Chosen and rated by 16 different football writers and journalists. Again, these kinds of polls will always create debate. Not sure I fully agree with the placements of some.

Great topic of debate.

Couple of placings stand out for me.

1. There are 95 players in the world better than Samir Nasri?

2. Mario Gomez at 27 seems a bit generous.

3. I know who I'd take at Villa out of Aguero, Suarez & Ibrahimovic and it wouldnt be either of the last 2.

4. Di Maria seems a bit far down the pecking order at 44.

Gomez has 16 goals in 16 games this season for Bayern. 28 in 32 last season. If anything, he should be higher. As good as Neymar's potential is, he's still untested outside of Brazil. Internationally he was great against Scotland. To be ranked in the top 20 at just 19 without playing anywhere else in the world is generous at best. Still he has bags of potential.

Suarez 11th? Bags of ability but an awful finisher. I'm still bemused how Nasri makes it into the top 100.

I think Tevez should be lower tbh. As much of an arse as he is, he is a brilliant player.

I'm still bemused how Nasri makes it into the top 100.

He was the best player, in the best league in the world (arguable) last year?

I fail to see how there can be 95 better players out there, even taking into consideration his mediocre performances since joining City.

Vital for Arsenal but a failure thus far for City. Van Der Vaart is so influential for Spurs, I'm surprised he's not higher.

Rooney ahead of

Angel Di Maria

Wesley Sneijder

Neymar

Cesc Fabregas

David Villa

Sergio Aguero

REALLY?

Sergio Busquets - the fact that this clearing in the woods makes the list at all is a disgrace.

66.Alexandre Pato

63.Thomas Vermaelen

47.Carlos Tevez

46.Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

32.Arjen Robben

28.Wesley Sneijder

27.Mario Gomez

20.Neymar

11.Luis Suarez.

Few of these made me laugh

Neither Pato or Vermaelen should be anywhere near that list, Vermaelen's a pretty standard defender who's better going forward than defending, Pato spends 2/3's of the season injured, and he's had an awful season so far.

Huntelaar is officially better than Carlos Tevez. Oh okay.

Ah Gomez, I'm sure domestically he's a decent striker, I mean, he gets his goals but he's such a basic lump of a striker, he doesn't do anything that Carew couldn't. But he's better than both Robben and somebody who almost single handedly won the CL, Sneijder.

Neymar hasn't played a single game in Europe. Suarez, what the ****? When Benzema barely makes the list and Suarez is 11th, it loses any credibility.
