  1. Great chance to beat Chelsea without Drogba and Lampard. We couldn't do it. Didn't have the players or class to do it. GH has a lot of rebuilding to do. Downing played better though. Probably his best game for us so far, but he needs to keep that form up and prove he was worth the 12m.
  2. With that team we might be in for another drubbing? Worried, really worried.
  3. Seen him play a few times and he will eventually end up in the lower divisions. Disappointed that he's been given a new contract. Not good enough.
  4. Again very obvious that we're lightweight in midfield and up front. Four new players needed in January, two quality midfielders and the same up front. Until then we can only hope that we stay in touch with the top six. My prediction before the game was a loss, but i didn't know that they would have huddlestone as a centreback and Defoe not playing. Makes the result even harder to take. GH has a massive re-building job to do and with a lot less money than O'Neill had.
  5. Has anyone seen the new Resident Evil movie yet? Just want to go and see it for Mila. She's a stunner!
  6. Spuds are better than us at the moment and it will be reflected in the result. Just can't see us getting anything from either Spuds, or Chelsea.
  7. Your initial comment was that a new, dynamic pope was needed to get the young people back into the church. The current pope is a known protector of priests who rape, or have raped, the 'young people' in the church. Can you not see why making reference to getting young people in to a catholic church was a poor choice of words? Yes mate i see now  Still think that a younger, more progressive pope would make the Catholic Religion more acceptable to modern society. Probably should have said that the first time
  8. Please explain why you are shocked about this. Not trying to be funny, just interested in your opinion.
  9. Poor. Choice. Of. Words. The catholic church interested in taking peoples money? Never! Please explain why it is a poor choice of words?
  10. I posted in the match thread just after the game started that our side wasn't strong enough against Stoke. As it turned out that worry sadly came true. Even with Coker in there we simply are not yet strong enough through the middle of our team. We desperatley need a new keeper, a new monster of a centreback, two new central midfielders who are not afraid to but the boot in, yet can retain the ball and a striker who would not have missed the chances presented against Stoke. I'll say again i thought in parts we played well last night but January can't come soon enough for us to allow GH to bring in a few players and strengthen where it is so obviously needed.
  11. I just knew in my gut that we'd lose the game after the equaliser. How many times have we done this over the past ten years? Thought we played some good football at times, no target man to hit, so more pass and move which i enjoyed. We looked more like Everton tonight than the usual Villa and we really had the chances to finished the game in the first half. We will play a lot worse and win. Just hope the GH can instill a more winning mentality into our team, or at least bring the players in who already have it. I think a lack of winning mentality has been our achiles heel for some time now. I wouldn't get on the backs of our players for that performance.
  12. Worried for us tonight, our line up is too small.
  13. I'm a catholic and hate the present Pope. He is very rigid in his beliefs. What the Catholic Church needs is a progressive Pope who is going to move with the times and get the young people back into the chapels. Our present Pope is not that man. I stopped being a practicing Catholic many years ago when our priests decided to advertise at the entrance of our chapel who wasn't paying into the collection. There was a lot of families at that time unable to afford to pay anything into the collection, but still found their names in the open book for everyone to see. Of course we were told at the time that it was a sin against God not to contribute to our church. I made a vow to myself at that time when i turned 18 that i would no longer attend church and i was true to my word. I don't believe it is the right time economically, or otherwise for the Pope to visit. When we have a Pope who is prepared to take our religion out of the dark ages, then that will be the right time. We need an ambassador for our church, not someone who might in private, have a photo of Hitler and pray to him.
  14. Is that you MON?? We had wondered where you had gone!! I'd take a draw away at Stoke to be honest, especially with Mac still handling first team affairs, hopefully he has learnt from his naivity and we won't get embarassed again. I'm saying either 1-1 or a tight 2-1 victory with a Gabby on the scoresheet. hahaha He, he, perish the thought that i'd be O'Neill. O.k put Young on stilts and then we'll be ok. :winkold:
  15. Cuellar has to play at RB for this game, as we will be continually hit with the long ball and we will need his ability in the air.
