It's not Pete. The thing is, everyone has warmed to Lerner, the way it's percieved he's already our owner and someone is trying to buy him out. Interesting to read these quotes from AV06 - as well as the following which again I can't see any reason unless you want to try and "scare" fans away from Lerner: "We are solely interested in strengthening the team and two players now could make all the difference. As regards Lerner, so many questions remain unanswered." Two players with 30 million? Surely you would be looking at more than 2 players with that sort of transfer budget? Something just doesn't sit right there for me. AV06 are still highly sceptical of Lerner's motives, believing his group have held detailed discussions to merge Villa with either Blues or Albion which would enable him to build a casino. Again, just pure conjecture with absolutely no proof from any quarter that this is going to happen and what does this comment serve except to try and undermine fans confidence behind the Lerner bid. Certainly listening to Keith Harris and others yesterday, they give the exact opposite comments - that non core assets are safe for a start. While I am more than happy to accept another bid could be good for us - I am reading more of this and now wondering if their intentions really do have the best interests of the club at heart. You haven't heard Lerner himself or even a spokesperson in the press at all until the statement yesterday. These other groups have been out there thumping their chests in the media, it just seems like an act of desperation. Why not just put the bid in if you're so confident and you can have your day in the press when it's accepted. I agree completely. I think that is why most people seem to be more behind the Lerner bid as he doesn't seem to be doing any posturing in public. I thought Padfield was meant to be a Chelsea fan anyhow? The fact that Padfield and AV06 have waited to see the proposal, to me says a lot. It says that they are shrewd and know exactly what to offer to get their bid in. It says that they can now use that proposal to mount an offensive on said proposal, including getting the fans to ask questions. Let's wait and see on that one.... What, like improve bodymoor and get some players in? Also, "solely interested in strengthening the team". Erm, no Bodymoor, academy, brand marketing. I know I'm nitpicking, but I'd rather have success tomorrow on a strong base built today. This all sounds like a Chelsea to me. Again, Chelsea sounds nice on paper, but they run losses every year, and have a wage bill to put anyone to shame. I'd rather not have that, thank you very much. We have been told that non core assets won't be sold. We have been told that investment is guaranteed in all aspects of the club. We know MON is their manager of choice. We know the bid isn't being funded via loans but through Lerner's own assets. What do we know about AV06's bid as yet? I want to hear about them - to make a choice over whether they can compete with Lerner or even better it. But those sorts of comments from them don't endear them to me at this stage unfortunately. True - which is why I am asking why AV06 have to say they have unanswered questions about Lerners bid? Like what? The fundemental questions all appear to have been answered.
