Takeover parts 1 & 2

Regarding today's visitors, I know nothing, but I am pretty convinced that the aircraft that arrived from Dubai this morning is related.

The aircraft is American registered to a bank that specialises in financing such machines, but after digging the last known 'owners' were an Australian company called 'Beyond Holdings', a mobile phone company.

As far as I can see the aircraft hasn't been to Australia for a long time, so the ownership may have changed, but it does kick around the Far East a lot, so it's possible that Dubai was a refuelling stop.

If RL's people are over, it was by scheduled flight, which I doubt. No private jets have come to the UK from 'obvious' Lerner originating points.

I heard earlier that it very possible that these Americans are representing the Dubai people, so you may well be right.

I feel a bit sorry for Mike Neville. He pretty much started the take over bandwagon, spent the best part of a year working on it and then probably get's brushed aside - never to be seen again.

I can appreciate what your saying about Neville but I won't feel sorry for him. At the end of the day if he has the best bid he'll win if he hasn't he won't. He may have been quite shocked by how many potential bidders have come out the woodwork but that is to the benefit of the club IMO.

Make no mistake, he's stopped working on the club other than the sale. This is the end. His final days.

and they're making him stay in the car.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

What a wonderful image that is.

That has made my day. Brilliant!

Yup. "Stay in the car old man- and don't touch the locks. Or the horn. We'll leave Radio 4 on for you. And a little gap in the window because this thing will be a lot tougher if you choose now to finally carc it."

Maybe Lerner isnt putting his own money in, but has the backing of the dubai people. So he sends some guys to Dubai for instructions, who then fly into brum...... :D

Well exactly. If he loses out, it'll be because he doesn't have the right bid. But after all the years of shite, he seems to have been the one person most determined to drag the club back up again. If he hadn't surfaced last year, there isn't a cat in hell's chance we'd be looking at a takeover now.

If he doesn't take us over then he will be flush with 64 million quid and if he is a lifelong Villa fan he can trjow us all a big party to celebrate the end of Ellis?

So in a vain attempt to summarise because my head really does hurt.....

Bid 1 - Neville

Bid 2 - AV06 - that judge fella

Bid 3 - Lerner

Bid 4 - Athole Still

(Potential) Bid 5 - Dubai businessmen (although these may be instead the backers of bid 4, or less likely bid 3)

(Potential) Bid 6 - American businessmen (although these are in all likelihood connected with bid 3 and are not therefore a separate bid)

Correct summary or not?

Perhaps Mr Lerner has a few business interests in that area and it's easier to fly some of these people in.

I think i will log back on when it has all been finalised, if that is ever going to happen. Have these people been in hiding until the last week and then all decided "oh yes lets buy an English football club?"

I am thinking of changing my sig as I write. (EDIT: Thread now changed!)

All the stuff I have heard today has got me more and more confused. Depending on who you listen to:

1) Lerner is on his way back. A deal has been done and just requires the rubber stamp. Then he's not coming back as he can do it all remotely and via his representatives.

2) Athole Still and his bunch are in "Pole Position"

3) The Dubai Royal Family, have been working quietly behind the scenes for several months and are now "favourites"

4) Neville isnt finished yet and shouldnt be written off

5) Padfield has serious backers who could yet figure

6) There's a Russian somewhere in the background

GOD KNOWS.......

Have we got 3,4 or even 6 parties interested in buying Villa?

If even half of this true surely not even ellis can manage to p**s off them all!

I am so glad that I am off abroad on Saturday for a while!

Its doing my head in! A deal will be done but when is anyone's guess now. If I had to stick my neck I would still reckon this week, but it gets foggier by the day!

Further to this it has just popped up that RL's jet is planned to leave Cleveland this afternoon (US time) for home.
