AVFC-Prideofbrum Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Pick Cup final 11. Choose completly different 11.
villadale Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Fonze, Delph, Carew, L Young to start against palace. Keep the rest of the side as strong as possible for me.
villadale Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Possibly. Can he be trusted? To be fair we probably don't know as has not played. Certainly would not trust sidwell from what I've seen when he has come on as sub in the league. Shame Reo Coker is out as would be bloody ideal against a dogged championship side.
colleh Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 ------Guzan ---Young----Beye---Collins----Warnock ---Albrighton---Delph--Sidwell---Downing ------Carew-----Fonz Please.
villadale Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Colleh.....too weak. Beye CB I don't like one bit. We got a great chance in progressing and dont want to blow it.
villadale Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 That Alan Lee (villa reject) will eat Beye alive in the air. They more than matched our 1st team at their place so would respect them a bit more than that.
AVFC-Prideofbrum Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Villadale, we've got a cup final 4 days after. what if it goes to extra time? also, we beat doncaster last year 3-1 with our 2nd string! after drawing at their place.
chasing_hamburg Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I'd play: --Guzan-- Beye--Cuellar--Collins--Young Milner--Delph--Sidwell--Downing --Carew--Delfouenso--
AVFC-Prideofbrum Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Milner and Downing need a rest more than anyone. Surely Albrighton? Or if you play a winger, it's got to be Young, doesn't seem to get tired.
colleh Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I'd pick Downing, because he's just scored two goals, so he can keep his momentum going and even after the run of games he's had, I still doubt he's fully up to speed after a bad injury, so more games the better.
chasing_hamburg Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Milner and Downing need a rest more than anyone. Surely Albrighton? Or if you play a winger, it's got to be Young, doesn't seem to get tired. Yeah good point actually. will be interesting to see what MON decides.
darrenm Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Pick Cup final 11. Choose completly different 11. Agreed. Something like: Guzan Beye Davies Cuellar Bouma Albrighton Sidwell Salifou Delph Delfouneso Carew I know it's the FAC but we're in a cup final 4 days later and we look a different side when fresh.
Mantis Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Guzan in goal Usual back 4 except take Cuellar out for Young Midfield I'm not sure about, but I'd definitely like to see Delph start Fonz and Carew up front.
AVFC-Prideofbrum Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Beye, L.Young, Davies, Delph, Sidwell, Albrighton. Fonz, Carew. Those 8 Should definately start.
Mantis Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Oh, and I'd love to see Salifou play at some point, if only for a few minutes at the end. Villa Park would go nuts.
guyavfc Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 We have a great chance of a semi final in the fa cup with our draw, i think we should still play a strongish side. Friedal, beye, davies, cuellar, bouma, downing, delph, sidwell, albrighton, fonz, carew
paddy Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I can't think of a single palace player who'd get into our 2nd XI so I'd go with them... Though keeping a at least of the centre backs thinking about it (moving Cuellar inside probably) as Alan Lee could cause some of the youngsters a few problem.
