Trotting out the standard 2 party line eh

not trotting any party line , just stating the official VT wind up the the woollies line ..PS it still works , thanks :-)

strange though that you trot out the labour line about Cameron's lack of experience .. remind me how much experience Blair had of running a country in 97 .... surprise surprise you'll find very few opposition leaders have experience of government ..

but the Tory front bench does include William Hague who probably knows more about politics than most , along with Ken Clarke and Ian Duncan Smith all of whom have been around a fair while as well , so i don't think they would spend their first few months in government reading "Running a country for Dummies"

such a shame when you see intelligent people post such statements ..let me guess a Tory stole an apple off your great great great great great great gran mother at school one day and you've never forgiven them

Would you not say the same about voting for a 'real' labour party, ie not one run by tory bliar.

hard to say, since i've been old enough to vote we had a labour party led by Michael foot and then Kinnock ..but based on the policies they had , no , I didn't vote for them .. John Smith died so i didn't really have to think about what he stood for and Blair ..well some of use were never taken in by him ...

Brown .. no chance I could vote for a party with it's policy driven by him , I'm actually surprised that anyone would want him as PM , it seems even his own party don't ..which is why i find it staggering when you have intelligent people that will vote for him just because they don't want the Tories to win .. I mean just look at what Brown had done to this country , seriously how could anyone want this man at the helm for another term .. well he sold all our gold , he squandered all our money , he increased the rich poor divide , he increased our national debt .. but it also says here he didn't got to Eton so I think I'll vote for his party

but to answer the question , finally :-) If next leader of the labour party said I'm going to revoke Lisbon then hell yeah I'd vote for him ...

But that's the blue labour party who pushed through policies the tories loved - privatise nhs, privatise schools, go to war - the tories supported all these and wanted to go futher.

My question was:

Would you not say the same about voting for a 'real' labour party, ie not one run by tory bliar.
Just like a politician to answer the question you want to instead of the one asked, so I'll help you out.

I'm sure your stance is no different to MJM's - you would not vote for a socilaist labour party until hell freezes over. You are a polar opposite but just the same. And it's such a shame when you see intelligent people post such statements (I meant MJM, not you :P)

Pretty much, yeah. But they stole a lot more than that off a lot more people, and went on doing it.

And no, I'll never forgive (or trust) them.

and the Robin Hood party gave it all back no doubt

so base don that shouldn't your statement have been "hell will freeze over before I vote Tory or Labour " ?

I'm sure your stance is no different to MJM's - you would not vote for a socilaist labour party until hell freezes over

i wouldn't wish a socialist anything on anyone , but MJ's line is I suspect based on an Anti Thatch sentiment and nothing to do with policies ,socialist or otherwise

I'll simplify it: the Labour Party ONCE used to have policies that I could believe in; the Conservative party never has.

His sentiment is anti-thatch as much as yours is anti-foot. People didn't start disliking the tories in 1979.

But they stole a lot more than that off a lot more people, and went on doing it.

Because shock horror the new labour were as different from the tories in the same way that new improved flash is different from the old flash - ie a sparkly new label (leader)

so base don that shouldn't your statement have been "hell will freeze over before I vote Tory or Labour " ?
"hell will freeze over before I vote Tory or new Labour " would work better.

so you didn't agree with Ted Heath taking the UK into the EU :winkold:

I did actually (although probably for completely different reasons to the pro-Europe Tories of the day). But the general point stands.

Especially with the 'Property Boom' and the millions coming in from Stamp Duty Tax, Brown should have made sure that some of that income be put away for the feckin mess we are in now. The Austrailan Government did this and thats why they are not in the debt we are.

The fact that Australia has massive mineral reserves to export has nothing to do with that...

Bollitics, my arse!

Royle Family actor Ricky Tomlinson is considering standing in the general election for the Socialist Labour party. The 70-year-old is protesting over a prospective Labour candidate, Londoner Luciana Berger, 28, being "parachuted" into the Liverpool Wavertree constituency. Tomlinson criticised Berger for a lack of local knowledge after she admitted not knowing who Bill Shankly was or who performed Ferry Cross The Mersey. If selected, he said his campaign slogan might be "Berger? My arse!", in reference to Joe Royle's catchphrase.

Another career politician benefits from having the right friends not the right ideas. Luciana is the girlfriend of birmingham's own Sion Simon and recently stood for council elections in camden making her the obvious choice for a safe labour seat in liverpool. I am becoming of the opinion that husband-wife/boyfriend-girlfriend combos should be banned from politics - if we look at the recent expenses scam, every couple (wintertons, keens, balls, kirkbride) in parliament were in it up to their necks.

And the UK government had a massive financial market bubble it was skimming off.

The difference is, the Australian government was putting away its pennies (cents) for a rainy day whilst the UK government went on the biggest spending spree in UK history with its new found wealth.

Why not require anyone standing for a seat to have voted in the previous GE in a constituency that's at least in the same ceremonial county (or something like that) as the constituency being run for?

the campaigning seems to be starting in earnest .. Brown trotted on on a Chat show hosted by his good friend .. and some tears thrown in to show us how human he really is in a shamless bid to win some votes ... terrible terrible decision by his spin doctors and i hope the public don't fall for it

there is a lot at stake this time around , don't tell me the election is going to be run on who can produce the most tears over the personal heartache in their life ...
