useless Posted November 13, 2023 Share Posted November 13, 2023 Was going to say we probably shouldn't be conceding conceding three goals to a category 2 team like Swansea in the first place, they're not even doing well in their league, but to be fair they did beat Brighton 3-1, and this is their first home defeat since November 11th last year. We were always on top in the game and our keeper, Sam Wheeler had not been tested until Atherstone had a Free Kick on the Halfway line and floated it into the area and after a bit of a scramble it fell to an Atherstone player to get a very undeserved equaliser. The penalty shootout was epic. Kobie Moore, who had played very well up front, launched the first penalty over the bar. Looked a bit grim at that stage but The Adders missed their third spot kick to put us back level. We converted 9 Penalties in a row with all of our outfield players taking one. They missed their 10th and we go into the next round. It was nice to see the return of Taylor Jay Hart after a long injury absence and He along with Adcock and Teddy Rowe were always in command of the midfield. Rico Richards gave us the lead half way through the first half and the Adders keeper made several good saves to keep mainly Moore from scoring. Very bumpy pitch and I thought Josh Feeney was immense at the back. Atherstone had one tactic and that was to knock it long where they thought their size would count. I have been to all the Senior Cup games in the last three seasons and we have put in some decent performances. Best was the win at Nuneaton last year and we also played very well before losing on penalties at Alvechurch last season. Always a young Villa Team but the Pitch at Coles Lane will suit the Villa lads. Will be interesting to see Jimoh if he comes on as well. useless Posted December 8, 2023 Share Posted December 8, 2023 The young first year scholars are doing brilliantly, Broggio with a goal and assist and has been one of the best players on the pitch if not the best, Triston Rowe one of the standouts as he usually he is, Borland has looked really assured, we must rate him highly to start him at this level as almost looks half the size of everyone else, and Proctor has made some fantastic saves, and looks to have good distribution. They've all played well, Moore also has a goal and assist, and great finish from Richards to get the third in, and we could have and probably should scored another three or four more at least.
