Tegis Posted July 31, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted July 31, 2009 Todays press-conference Tito vs Coleman before the end of 2009 Vitor Berlfort is back and will fight Franklin, yay! Henderson gets a rematch with Anderson Silva, yay! Fedor talks onging but co promotion is the stumbling block.
Tegis Posted August 2, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted August 2, 2009 Watched a bit of the Sengoku 9 event today. This KO from Hornbuckle is a serious rival to Henderson KO over Bisping. Yikes. Boom And this is a rather beautiful Guillotine Chocke by Mitsuoka 2 minutes in
granville
Those god damn Russians and their co-promotion. The Fertitas are in the Casino industry and are heavily vetted whenever they make a business deal so they can't be consorting with crooked Ruskies without losing their NSAC/NVGC licences. If Vadim doesn't budge then Fedor will be fighting fat bums for the rest of his career. PS - Check out the Bellator events. They've had some crazy finishes like this and this
Tegis Posted August 3, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted August 3, 2009 Oh FFS!!! Fedor has signed with Strikeforce and his management gets the co promotion bit. Now, I like Strikeforce, they are a good Promotion, only WEC and UFC tops them, but their heavyweights are Brett Rogers, Fabricio Werdum and Alistair Overeem. All second tier fighters at best. Not the test you'll want to see Fedor take on. He'll put all of those on their arse. Then what? Gutted!

Namaste
UFC 101 this weekend. Any news on whether it's on British TV? Or is it an internet stream job again? ESPN I think. Yep, ESPN's new channel. They now have the rights to show everything including the Fight Night's. UFC 101 - Championship bout: B.J. Penn © vs. Kenny Florian Light Heavyweight bout: Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin Welterweight bout: Amir Sadollah vs. Johny Hendricks Middleweight bout: Kendall Grove vs. Ricardo Almeida Some interesting fights there - Penn and Florian could be a very good fight they are both exciting to watch and Penn is very technical. Silva v. Griffin is a real clash of styles, if Griffin has his strategy right he may win but so far Silva is the supreme fighter of the UFC (in my opinion). Sadollah is also good although haven't seen much of him since The Ultimate Fighter. I hope Grove destroys Almeida because he's such a fake who relies on the takedown too much, unless he's changed the guy cannot punch to save his life. Did anyone see his fight against Patrick Cote a while back? Almeida was embarrassing which is odd considering he is supposedly one of the best BJJ fighters in the world. :!:

Tegis Posted August 6, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted August 6, 2009 Yep, it's ESPN. Main card * Lightweight Championship bout: B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian * Light Heavyweight bout: Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin * Welterweight bout: Amir Sadollah vs. Johny Hendricks * Middleweight bout: Kendall Grove vs. Ricardo Almeida * Lightweight bout: Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellegrino Preliminary card * Lightweight bout: Shane Nelson vs. Aaron Riley * Welterweight bout: Tamdan McCrory vs. John Howard * Middleweight bout: Thales Leites vs. Alessio Sakara * Welterweight bout: Matt Riddle vs. Dan Cramer * Lightweight bout: George Sotiropoulos vs. George Roop * Welterweight bout: Jesse Lennox vs. Danillo Villefort BJ will bounce back but Florian is very decent nowadays. Will be a good fight I reckon. I really hope for a Forrest win to get Anderson going again. But I doubt it will happen. Sadollah free from injuries at last. Lets see if he was a TUF fluke. Hendricks is a tough test from what I've seen. Almeyda to beat Grove, but only because of Groves cringeworthy nickname "Da Spyder"
Namaste
Looks like I may be signing up to ESPN tomorrow then! Tegis Posted August 6, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted August 6, 2009 How bloody huge is Anderson???? Forrest is regarded one of the biggest 205ers and they look the same! No wonder Anderson looks so lanky at
granville
I hope BJ Penn gets knocked out stone cold, flat on his back, toes curled, blood everywhere, dislocated face and has to have his whiney jaw wired shut. I've never hated any fighter more. Grade A prick. He's pushing 'Arry Spivnapp. Edit: This peach is the latest reason for my hate (BJ on GSP): "“In my opinion, he doesn’t play by the rules when it comes to steroids and growth hormones and that stuff. Look at him. He’s the worst. He looks like that every day. That’s cheating. There is a reason why there are rules against using steroids. The rest of us, we get fat, then we train and get skinny and the cycle goes over and over again. He looks the same way all the time. Come on.” Fat little weasel. Has he ever considered that some people aren't lazy, chubby, half arsed whiners out of training? I don't think he even understands how steroids work. I expect more mindless wankerness before the weekend is out.

Florian looks phased to me in that photo, maybe I'm reading too much into it?

Think's he's someone great and is above everyone. I'd want Ando to win anyway... I think you've got mixed up between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Forrest Griffin there. One of my mates went to a signing and said he stopped to talk to anyone who wanted to, had pictures and wrote whatever messages they wanted. Top bloke by his account, and by every interview and report on him other than yours that I've seen.
