Mercenary managers just reduces it to club football.

It isn't club football.

Is your rule here about manager's nationalities an Iron Law with no exemptions? I mean, does the manager of, say, the Solomon Islands have to come from there?

1. Does it matter to you that the manager is English?

2. Does it matter to you that an American company makes the England kit?

1. No, but like @Stevo985 my preference would be an English manager. Gives them something to aim for as they will never get a job at a top 6 team

2. Don't care - couldn't even tell you who made the kit.

Yes, I like an English coach, I think identity is important in international football, I think a good English coach is better than a good foreign coach for this reason. I'm not at all against foreign coaches, just prefer an English one.

No, a kit is a kit

Well that's just silly.

Why? Because they don't have many managers? They also don't have many players.

I'm not quite sure where I'd draw the line. Players obviously need to be that nationality. Managers? Probably, for me. Coaches? Hmmm. Physios and kit men? Maybe not.
