Talking of lies, that Tory MP who came round yesterday implied to me he was formerly in the Navy. I looked it up today. He wasn't. He worked for Morrison's supermarket as some sort of manager. The Twunt.

perhaps he said gravy?

Nice to see that nice Mr Major preaching to the nation about the dangers of socialist Scots.

I thought he was dead. Is he still married to Norma but shagging Edwina Currie? Or did he pack that in at the same time he stopped preaching to the nation about old fashioned family values?

He's a Surrey cricket fan , which erases all his other sins ... So I won't have a bad word said against Major

If there's actually some sort of reckoning then there are some things even St Peter can't ignore.

Edit: Lift going down, sir.

"That's the price you pay."

Well done, Fraser Nelson. Nailed The Spectator's colours to the mast.

There's much that Fraser may say that's interesting but he's playing the part of being a heartless, rightist tosspot incredibly convincingly.

Despite all that he is far more popular than tony bliar somehow!

not really sure what point you're making, but yes, probably less unpopular than blair

In fairness, he isn't directly responsible for the deaths of half a million children.

I'll go out on a limb and suggest that 'contribsx' is quite possibly a Labour party intern.

Yep nailed on.

Classic stitch up of an arsehole. "Trust me" shouts notoriously untrustworthy bellend.

Good work by Labour that.

Well, in line with my post of yesterday, I've been in my local town square today and the BBC have 4 or 5 vans, a marquee and people with cameras and mics jogging around trying to get people to speak. Over on the island, today my parents have had two different candidates knocking the door, both with their own little film crews so my parents have refused to open the door - but did speak to them through the open living room window and accepted some leaflets handed through the window.

I am soooo hoping they've made it on to the local news as eejit islanders confused by door / window useage.

George Osbourne was here in town yesterday, apparently.

My missus has been asked if she'd like to meet Milliband next Tuesday when he's in town.

There was a local candidate husting on Tuesday, Green Party and UKIP candidates didn't turn up. I like to think they were either fighting or shagging in the car park around the back.

Think Milliband has just handed victory to the Tories - by blaming him for the boat people deaths - puts immigration right back in the spotlight - can't understand why EM has brought this into the election campaign - should be focusing on NHS ...Cuts...

Can you quote the piece of the speech where he says that?

There appears to be a bit of hoo haa here over the exact wording and the underlying meaning of briefing notes for a speech that hasn't actually been given yet?

I could be an hour behind the arc.

seems a strange one , he actually backed the military involvement in Libya ,obviously this was in the days before he played politics with thousands of lives as he did in Syria  , so isn't he as much to blame ?if indeed any blame is to be had .
