    Never seen this lad play to be honest. But i like this transfer strategy, it used to be the done thing to get players from the lower leagues, really looking forward to seeing how far lambert can take us with it. There must be a lot of talent going begging in the lower leagues, why not try and nab some of it.

    I agree with the top 2 posts, he needs to get a grip of himself. He wasn`t being "messed around" its just that aston villa football club does not revolve around him, deals need to be worked out and things take a bit longer sometimes. He should have just stayed quiet and waited it out. But he is obviously a bit of a small time tit judging by the way he reacted.

    I knew the negative online conjecture would kick off about this. If we can afford him and the manager wants him, and he wants to join then we will sign him. If not then he isn`t for us.

    oh, i thought 8 million was for the enitre fee, yeah, i can`t imagine 8 million being the realse fee, that sounds like complete bollocks.

    8 milliion is about right for a good international centre back. 12-15 would be too high for this type of fella.

    Simpson is a good player, lambert is really beefing up the squad with good players here. Nothing amazing but we should be in very good shape come the start of the season. He isn`t spending silly money to do it either.

    how would owen be going in the wrong direction? Different players are used for different purposes. Not every player is for the long term, some are just for now to help out the squad. Don`t get that at all. Considering we have sod all up front apart from bent i think owen would be alright for a couple of seasons providing his wages aren`t massive. Regardless of the fact he is passed his best his name alone would create a buzz and put extra bums on seats.

    I think he is a very good player, but there is only so long he can live off potential and people like me can big him up. This season he is going to have to do it or go somewhere else.
