  1. Wonder if we go 4-4-2 with Benteke and Weimann up top with Agbonlahor and CNZ on the wings or 4-2-3-1 with Gabby and Weimann on the wings and CNZ in the middle. I'd prefer the latter

    Brad Guzan

Felt sorry for him in the beginning against Swansea. People just running free at him with defenders trailing a couple meters back. Thought he could have done a bit more with the goal at the end but I blame that on being unsighted/slight deflection.
  3. Guzan Lichaj Lowton Clark Bennett Herd Westwood Bannan Ireland. Carruthers Benteke
  4. Don't see this ending well with that lineup. Looks like he wants to clog the middle and have the wing backs attack. I'm sure Bale and Lennon will enjoy the space

Love him. And love his trolling of Suarez.
  6. His first goal was class. Did Benteke let it run because he heard a shout or was the ball just behind him? Its hard to tell from a replay.
  7. A little headless chicken sometimes but damn that boy has a shot on him.
  8. Blah, I hate that formation and think we'll have trouble retaining the ball but onwards and upwards!
  9. I still think that 3-5-2/5-3-2 formation is horrid. Too static and predictable, not enough players getting foward
  10. I don't particularly like the inclusion of Holman if we're continuing to play 4-2-3-1 like I think we are. Too much inconsistency from him to hold the ball against a side like Reading to really break them down. Then again, he might surprise me and perform admirably. I wouldn't hold my breath though. I think we could get the 3 points, but I'm afraid we still won't be able to take advantage of the attacking third. Cue more long balls up to Benteke and half chances on the break.
  11. Villa: Guzan, Clark, Baker, Lowton, Stevens, Bannan, Westwood, Holman, Agbonlahor, Weimann, Benteke Subs: Given, Ireland, El Ahmadi, Albrighton, Delph, Bowery, Lichaj
  12. But that's the whole point of it. It's the same government, but people on both sides try to paint it in a way that makes them feel better, so Dems cry fascism (despite the fact the Patriot Act got voted 98-1 in the Senate) and Pubs cry communism (despite the fact that TARP and the bailout were Bush ideas)
  13. Not really arguing pro-Bush policies, just saying that you don't need to look that far back when Democrats thought that we were turning into WW2 Germany. Only now, the pendulum has swung the other way and Republicans think we're turning into Cold War Russia
  14. If you want to find the height of demented mania from Democrats, you need not only look back during the height of the Bush years when they were convinced he was Hitler and he would soon take over the government and have us high stepping and starting wars in every country imaginable.
  15. We've been trying to clamp down on immigration for a while. But they're pretty sneaky, those bastards.
  16. It's their only play if they want to stay competitive. That and appealing to minorities. It's a bit tricky. Federal Law doesn't usually trump State Law but they've used loopholes regarding the Commerce Clause and interstate trade to jump all over it. Then again, Obama might just do whatever he wants and sick the DEA on them. Theoretically, since he doesn't have to run for re-election again, he should ease up on appearing as if he's anti-drug. Then again, maybe that was his position all along.
  17. I think the Tea Party will be blunted. Supporters of the Tea Party are...well there's no other way to put it...dying out. If they're smart, Repubs will make a mad grab for pro-immigration and anti-war/drones to reclaim the center. It's just like chess and football, gotta control the middle.
  18. But if it did, that would be quite a laugh
  19. I'd wait around 3-4 EST to see what the exit polls look like. If there's any sort of D+ advantage, I'd place a bet.
  20. You'll find just as many links to voting machines that refuse to accept votes for Romney as well. They're all calibration errors, as anyone who has ever dealt with frustratingly inane touch screens have ever experienced. If they wanted to fix the ballots, don't you think there's a much more subversive way than "YOU CAN'T VOTE FOR OBAMA!"
  21. Just a side note: Bannan, Ireland, and Weimann have started all the games we won.
  22. Don't think we'll get anything from this, but worth a shot. Has to be a 5 man midfield, two strikers up top just doesn't work for us. ------------------------------Guzan------------------------- -------Lowton---------Vlaar--------Clark---------Lichaj ---------------Bannan------------Westwood------------- ---Weimann------------Ireland--------------Agbonlahor ------------------------Benteke------------------------------
  23. Just two things: 1) All of the talk of election fraud is overwrought. There are very few cases of in-person voting fraud and most cases of voter fraud are through absentee balloting. The whole voting machines thing is also overblown. There's a much greater chance of the count being affected by the particular county commissioner than the voting machine. 2) You'll probably be able to tell earlier than 1030 EST who will win. If the exit polls in swing states indicate a typical D+5 representation, then Obama will win. If the exit polls indicate that it's even or any sort of R+, then Romney will win
