  1. As far as I am aware, they can. The Browns got the Number 8 pick in the 2015 draft from the Eagles, and traded that pick again to move down to 15 and get more picks, which I suppose is the same principle.
  2. Agree with you re: Bradford (if he can stay healthy). I think their division will be ridiculously tough next year though.
  3. Dorsey drafted him apparently. I think he's the back up for the guy we just got from the Steelers, and Coleman will shuffle back to LT from RT to cover Thomas or start if Joe retires.
  4. I can't see Cousins coming to Cleveland, but we have the cap space so I suppose anything is possible. I'm a bit surprised it's so unanimous in mocks for Darnold over Rosen, but I haven't watched enough of either yet.
  5. I know this is incredibly early, but in the interests of fun... It's draft night... you're the Browns GM... You have two top five picks... What do you do?
  6. I feel like the Cousins market won't be as competitive as we're led to believe. If we're being honest, when you look at QB-needy teams, there are a number of reasons why they may not want to give up all that much for him. Arizona - Aging team which needs rebuilding in some key areas. It would be a lot of cap to tie up in a QB under those circumstances Denver - Is Cousins good enough for Broncos to make the jump in that division? Minnesota - Will Cousins bridge the gap that Keenum couldn't? At his age I can't see him going to teams which are more than 1 year away from competing either, which would rule out Bills, Browns, Jets etc.
  7. I can't believe Hue is still in a job, to be honest. I think you are completely right about what Cleveland need to do. What we will end up doing, of course, is trading for AJ McCarron and keeping Hue until the point next season when he inevitably loses the support of the team.
  8. I think John Dorsey will be under a ton of pressure to take a QB first overall in the upcoming draft. Aside from that (and the fact that Hue Jackson will still be coaching whoever we draft) I like your mock.
  9. I keep veering between being really excited and terrified for the Browns vs. Ravens game. Our roster is actually looking pretty promising in most spots now, I thought we played well against the Steelers, but Kizer isn't going to find it easy against that Ravens defense. At this point I'm just hoping that the Bengals really were that bad...
  10. I finished watching Twin Peaks: The Return on Monday, and I still haven't recovered! I was interested to see what others made of it and I can totally understand the very different reactions. Showtime definitely have to be given a lot of credit for financing the project and allowing David Lynch and Mark Frost so much creative freedom, because at times The Return was like nothing else I've ever seen. Although I loved the original Twin Peaks series, I do find some David Lynch films very frustrating and there were certainly parts of this series which didn't work for me, particularly in the first half-hour or so of the finale but in other places too. Overall, though, I think The Return has been brilliant. I'm not sure how much of it I really understand, or if it can indeed be understood fully, but the journey and the atmosphere is probably more important I feel, and I could have stayed in the universe of Twin Peaks for another 18 hours easily.
  11. I've not being enjoying the show as much this season so far. I'm also watching Twin Peaks: The Return at the moment and I wish now that I'd saved one to watch later rather than trying to be invested in both at the same time. That being said, this week's show was the strongest of the current series by far in my opinion. I enjoyed Arya's scenes, the return of Bronn and of course the battle at the end from a visual standpoint. I can't escape the feeling though that the show is ducking out of killing off characters more than ever now, which means it doesn't have the same tension as before. I can understand that there are perfectly good reasons for keeping Bronn, Ellaria, Jamie and Yara alive, but the fact that a major death hasn't yet happened has left me feeling like there is no peril in each battle set-piece.
  12. I feel as though I'm less impressed by Steer than I am unimpressed by Johnstone at this point, but I think we have a competition for the No. 1 jersey on our hands this season. Both have done well on loan at this level before (Johnstone at Preston and Steer at Huddersfield if I'm not mistaken?) and were highly rated at one point a couple of years ago. In one sense I'd like Steer to win that battle as he's our player but it would seem ridiculous then to be paying to loan a keeper to sit on the bench.
  13. We're looking really good so far. I feel like, minus Kodjia, this could be our strongest XI too.
  14. I think this is a deal which makes sense for all parties, although I would have liked us to get a little more money for him. I seem to recall that Clark went for more last summer, and I think Baker is the better player. The reality is that Nathan Baker is a good centre-half at this level, but he isn't an automatic starter for us and at his age it's totally understandable that he would want to be. In the long run we were always going to move him on eventually. From a buyer's perspective, Bristol City are getting an experienced player that they know plenty about for a reasonable price.
  15. I think it's really hit stride now to be honest. Everything from Episode 6 onwards has been brilliant, although I didn't really appreciate Ep. 8 until a second viewing. To quote Dale Cooper; "I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange"
  16. I don't tend to get involved with 'politics' threads on VT, although generally the standard of discussion is a lot higher than on other forums or Twitter, for example. I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts. Ahead of voting today, I've been going back over the campaign in my head and struggling to find a reason to vote for any of the candidates/parties. Maybe it's nostalgia, but when I look at the Tory cabinet / Labour shadow-cabinet, I just don't see a great deal of talent and charisma. I don't get the sense that anyone has the capability or momentum to make a positive difference, especially compared with previous elections. No-one is winning me over enough to have faith in them. Based on the manifestos I would be inclined to vote Labour, but I think Jeremy Corbyn attracts and repels support in equal measure, and I'm not sure how competent he really is. I read Stefan's post above about holding Labour parties to higher standards, and I do agree to an extent. I think left-wing parties do have more to overcome in our society due to the way our media operates amongst many other factors, but I don't read The Sun or Daily Mail, and I still don't find Corbyn to be a particularly impressive leader. It's not all just a witch-hunt. On the other hand, I think Theresa May's honeymoon period in office is well and truly over after a really cynical campaign, and I worry about the consequences of having her in power backed by a huge majority in Parliament. Even after their manifesto I still don't feel like I know what they'll do in office (except that it's bad news for foxes). It just feels like whatever they do, much of it will be bad for a lot of people or they wouldn't be so vague and non-committal (and I know that's terrible reasoning). The FPTP system makes it harder too, although I do see more variety in the posters and placards around than I used to. In 2015 I voted Labour because I was worried about the UKIP vote locally, and I'll probably do the same again to counteract wherever that vote migrates to this time around. It's hardly stirring stuff though. I expect a Tory majority of around 90.
  17. I think the only kit I have properly liked on this thread so far has been the Southampton away kit. I think the Man City kit is better than the current one, however.
  18. I can't say I'm particularly sold on either at the moment. The away kit looks like a training kit to me. Edit - I agree with the post above that it could easily be a photoshop effort after the home shirt leak.
  19. For me it's typical Lynch so far. A real mix of sublime and ridiculous.
  20. I feel relatively happy with the Browns draft. Myles Garrett and Jabrill Peppers will both have big roles to play for us immediately and apparently they were the two players Gregg Williams wanted from the draft, so it's good that we could get them both. We've released Barnidge, so Njoku will probably see a lot of the field early too. I'm not sure how necessary it was for us to trade back into the first round to get him, but after O.J. Howard he was apparently the next best ranked TE in the draft and he's only 20, so that fifth-year option could come in handy down the line. I wanted Chidobe Awuzie and/or Obi Melifonwu from this draft in an ideal world, and I still feel like we have needs in the secondary. DeShone Kizer was my favourite QB in this draft, however, so I can't complain really. Time will tell if Trubisky was worth what the Bears gave up to get him. Even if they didn't need the trade up they won't care if he starts for them for the next 10 years I suppose. 49ers had an incredible draft really.
  21. I'm a Browns fan, so I'll be answering this based on the silly amounts of picks we have in the first two rounds this year. 1. Who do you realistically want to take? There are a few guys at the top of this draft who would all be solid selections at No. 1 and 12 if it weren't for Myles Garratt's athleticism. However, I don't like hearing that he's maybe not as motivated or nasty as some scouts would ideally like so with that in mind I would love it if the Browns went: 1. Jamal Adams 12. Derek Barnett 33. DeShone Kizer 52. Chidobe Awuzie 2. Who do you think you will ACTUALLY take? 1. Myles Garratt 12. Mitch Trubisky 33. Sidney Jones 52. Adam Sheehan 3. Who do you think might fall to your spot who you would take instead? With Isaiah Crowell's contract situation, I can see an interesting conversation being had about running backs if either Fournette or Cook are still on the board at 12, or even if McCaffrey is still there at 33. 4. Who do you want to completely avoid? Reuben Foster or Joe Mixon - Ultimately NFL teams will draft on talent, but there seems to be a good buzz around Hue Jackson and the team spirit in the Browns camp right now and I'm worried about that being disturbed.
  22. I heard that the trade cost was multiple second round picks? 1st overall would be madness when Myles Garrett is such a crazy prospect at the top of the draft. I hope this is not the case.
  23. Add in all the craziness regarding Garoppolo's Instagram 'hack' this morning and that scenario is looking more likely. The Browns have certainly built a cockpit to help a young QB though with all this QL spending, whether it's Garoppolo , Kessler, Trubisky, whoever.
  24. Jack Grealish is one of the players in this current Villa squad that I would not want us to sell under any circumstances. I feel he has improved this season and he's the player that opposition teams worry about most when they play us in my opinion. A midfield of Hourihane and Lansbury behind him will do wonders for his game as we won't be so static in midfield and he'll have more options when on the ball. I see he is attracting criticism for winning so many free kicks but surely set pieces are an opportunity?
  25. I've been following the Cleveland Browns from when Randy Lerner bought us. Can't give up on them now. It's been even more miserable than the Villa though most of the time! It's only been the last three/four years I've got into NFL properly though, I just checked up on scores and watched highlights before that.
