  1. Lambert might not be the big name that will take us all the way into the CL places but we need to build the club and squad back to one that's together, committed and has an onus on attacking football before we can hope to attract any stellar talent. Lambert can do do this and may even overachieve a la Pardew. No appointment is guranteed 100%, look at AVB who every back pages wet dream 12 months ago and RDM was was sacked from the baggies so big names aren't everything.
  2. Curbs would be a step-up but Im not sure he'd come. Apparently when he was flirting with the Wolves he'd said how annoyed he was at the way we handled interviewing him previously.
  3. Spurs have already played QPR twice. Quite right sir, I meant Blackburn. D'oh
  4. How is the league irrelevant to Chelsea. Unless I've missed something if they lose in the final they need top four to qualify next year. Bayern Munich in their backyard is not going to be easy. Ok irrelevant may be the wrong word and I agree Bayern won't be easy but it's probably their better chance given Newcastle's form. They'll be protecting Lampard, Essien, Cahill & Luiz given the suspensions for the final.
  5. What worries me is Spurs have gone right off the boil and face Bolton and QPR as well as us. Chelsea will also have all eyes on the CL final as the league is irrelevant for them now as stated elsewhere and they have QPR Saturday which QPR will be right up for.
  6. Link? I don't think Rogers is going anywhere to be fair. Apparently Rogers is replacing dirty harry @ spuds when he goes the England.
  7. Lerner has respect for the club? Laughable. No, he does, I think your comment is short term memory based, perhaps. The murals on the Holte, though they have nothing to do with playing on the pitch, show he does respect the history. As does bringing back the 81/82 side for that Sheff Utd game, as do many things. Just because he's appointed a coupe of duff managers and the team is losing doesn't mean he doesn't "get" the history or appreciate or respect it. Quite the opposite. Far point, I've never sat down with him so I have to get him some benefit of the doubt. I just don't understand how someone with our best interests at heart can appoint someone with such a history of relegation and accept the results and performances of this season
  8. Lerner has respect for the club? Laughable.
  9. Maybe is Richard Dunne had given more a shit about team harmony over the last couple of seasons we wouldn't be in this mess
  10. I cant see our (in)glorious leaders identifying themselves!
  11. I think there are already many groups, what I propose is unfollowing and unliking the official page/twitter feed en mass so they know we're fed up hearing Mcleish has the backing. As I say, it might be dismissed but it's still sending a message.
  12. I don't deny it's not possible we could come straight back up but it's naive to say we definitely would (apologies if you didn't). What worries me is the gap between the top of the championship and bottom of the premier is narrowing, mainly due to the lack of the quality in the premier. I doubt we'd fall all the way into League 1 but a promotion would be tough as there are some teams in there who are more competitive and better prepared.
  13. Why? Newcastle did it. Exception rather than the rule, I raise you Leeds, Ipswich, Charlton, Southampton, Both Sheffield clubs, etc
  14. I would also propose an on-line protest as we only have 1 home game left. Constantly post on facebook links or tweeting our disapproval at McLeish while keeping things civil (i.e. no personal insults/foul language as it loses the point we're trying to make) OR a co-ordinated mass unlike/unfollow. I know some people think this might not got noticed by the powers that be but social media has a huge influence and something is better than nothing so any improvements on this would be welcome.
  15. We have to consider him as unfortunately we've got a huge hole in central midfield now. Him and Delph have to step it up or be moved on to free up wages.
  16. We looked much more dangerous putting balls in from out wide as there's no movement through the middle. Has to start over Bannan for me.
  17. Key games for survival are Bolton, Sunderland & Stoke at home, Norwich, WBA away. 5-7 points from those should keep us up. Would rule out a point at Anfield or home to Spurs who have wobbled a bit.
  18. Poor today I thought, Weimann looked more up for it and more of a threat. Worryingly out of sorts with Bent out, Id accept 6-7m for him at the moment.
  19. Hopefully Right-back is solved for now with Hutton and Lichaj, means we can re-invest Beye's wages elsewhere hopefully.
  20. Proved he can play central in a 4-4-2 today as well. Needs a destroyer playing behind him, hopefully Delph or Herd can come good.
  21. Hear, hear massive support on twitter. Can we get Chelsea fans to join in?
  22. Going slightly OTT but highlights the english approach of chucking money at average performers, no wonder people want to work in the premier league.
  23. If he can pass the medical and fit enough for 20-odd games as back-up for Gabby and Bent then yes please. Experienced and talented and could pass on his experience to Weimann
  24. yes!!! but Houllier saw what the problem was and addressed it and ended up 9th. Houllier utilised Bent, whats Mcleish excuse? Does he know how to address the problem? Only good thing you can say about those stats in we're 11 goals better off in conceding but it says more about how bad the bottom teams are rather than us being better this season.
