  1. Well someone has to be this low down the pecking order...and it happens to be him. Often players that are that low down are not very good. Doesn't make them whatever weirdly aggressive thing you decided to randomly call him.

  3. "Fletch" is just a professional lick-arse. Has no interest in any team outside of the top ones. And that's someone who doesn't usually believe in all that sort of "bias" nonsense. Just a climber.
  4. Yeah our seventh-choice CM is a malignant leech because he isn't very good and never plays
  5. Diaby's not winning that ball against Rodri. It's just gonna happen.
  6. If the FK just hits Zaniolo on the corner of the wall having jumped to the side like he did, no one cares. It's totally outcome bias to blame him. A lot of players jump to the side because naturally the ball is more likely to be aimed around the wall rather than in between it. How's he meant to know Foden puts it where he's stood? It's just not his fault.
  7. Lol. Away at City and now he's a liability for giving away fouls playing alongside a bunch of attackers/kids. Pathetic support
  8. For some reason I really want Zaniolo to start with Duran
  9. Doug Ellis hosts the away fans to be fair so it always favours them on TV. I sit in the Lower and when you're actually there you can hear the home fans far more clearly, compared to when I don't go. That said, the atmosphere remains fairly quiet until we score. Once again, I think the club are largely to blame for their over-the-top pre-game antics and trying to generate fake atmosphere themselves, when the fans are perfectly capable.
  10. He's absolutely quality. Very typical Gareth that he is so negative, to the point of contrarian, that he only came on in the 74th minute of the two friendlies.
  11. It's worrying how predictable it is
  12. Haha this is so funny. Totally agree with both of them but surely he understands why a Celtic-supporting Scotsman would want England to lose McGinn definitely keeps a lid on it doesn't he.
  13. Might be me doing a John Townley impression but quite funny that he basically just calls Gerrard sh*t straight away lol
  14. It's been floated on here before, but is there somebody on this forum that sits on this advisory board: https://www.avfc.co.uk/fans/fan-engagement/fan-advisory-board ? It says VillaTalk on it. I would do it but would imagine whoever is involved has more clout. Is this public address system (thank you @The Fun Factory) ever discussed? I would imagine if they did a poll as mentioned by @tommytenjobs it would be overwhelmingly against the music. I would love to get the club aware of this issue.
  15. Fair comparison. I do question whether this is really applied commonly across the board though. The fact Harry Winks is in the thumbnail is perhaps indicative that it might not be...
  16. There is absolutely no debate in my eyes that the tannoy is one of the biggest culprits for dimming the atmosphere. Also why have we sacked off the countdown for the entrance music? Crazy Train ain't a football song and it definitely ain't entrance music. Literally can't hear the Holte End before kick-off anymore. They need to sort it out. It's embarrassing.
  17. In fairness, Cash played RM and we were pretty naff in the first-half of that game.
  18. Think possibly got it wrong yesterday but I saw the logic of keeping it tight for 60 and going for it in last 30 with Diaby for Lenglet/Cash. I think that was the plan. Problem obviously was conceding in that period before that theoretical sub. Emery perhaps over-thought this one in terms of game(s) management and ended up paying, but again I (think) I saw what he was trying to do. Either way, under Smith/Gerrard we almost always played one-way. It's not a terrible thing to bring in an element of tactical pragmatism/flexibility in the interests of perhaps keeping players fresher for certain phrases of games/the schedule as a whole. Some managers would've canned either Ajax or Spurs in favour of one or the other. At least we are giving both our absolute best even with so many injuries.
  19. If the ref gives a red, it's not getting overturned. But he shouldn't imo. It's an "orange". My main gripe with this - and it has been for a long time in the league as a whole - is that in this day and age the Premier League should be reviewing every single red and applying a ban on a case-by-case basis. The NBA do it, and the punishment varies. PL/PGMOL obviously have the resource to do this. Whether you agree it's a red or not, it's scandalous that it's a three-game ban because of archaic rules. I'd go as far as saying it's potentially ruined our season because of what McGinn brings, which is totally unique in the squad. Not the ref's problem obviously, but it's still something which cannot be happening in 2024 because of default rules. I don't even care about the result. Just very frustrated we'll miss him for three games.
  20. Will have to play against Ajax right? Konsa suspended, Chambers ineligible. Guess Carlos would be fit but would imagine Pau starts.
  21. Amazing how negative people are. They have to win here.
