We've played ten minutes of a half with our best defender missing and a completely makeshift backline. It's pretty obviously going to unsettle us. It's nothing to do with mentality. Teams have spells.

As much as I would agree, our defence is actually not that different to usual other than Lenglet playing on his weaker side, which few would say is unusual if we were playing two right-footers. Don't think we need to change the way we play other than Dougie playing the Kamara role and McGinn being slightly less free.

The criticism is often so far over the top though when a player has a couple of bad games, and people pile-on when a few people mention someone, and go too far. This is clearly the case with Cash and Carlos currently. It's the definition of scapegoating because they've, overall, been fine. This season, despite being brilliant for most of it, there are 6/7 players who have got loads of abuse off fans online at different times.

Seen these sarcastic remarks in two threads now. It's a universally-used word to describe something that Villa fans are absolutely world class experts in. Hardly shocking that it gets used on these forums when some our fans are so quick to point fingers at their own players, and have been for decades.

Thought at the time that he could've tried to jump more but tbh it's absolutely nowhere near him. Absolutely perfect cross. Not sure what he can do really. It's just a bit unlucky that it fell so perfectly for SMT and he had the run on Cash.
