    I'm glad that £30m is the amount being "rumoured".. just because if it does happen (and I hope it doesn't) then I'd be happy with us leeching that much from City (or £20m and a £10m-player)

    So... what's the crack with Jimmy now? I thought we were having contract talks today? Is it a case of.. A) he signs a contract extension Today and it's on avfc.co.uk in the next few hours .... or... we don't hear anything.. he's basically denied an extension and we're to expect an improved offer from Man City?

    My loyalties are with Villa.. but I voted England because winning the world cup is a much greater acheivement than finishing 4th in the Prem.

    Wigan apparently want £15m for N'Zogbia, so anybody who hoped we'd get him will probably be disappointed. I'm not too keen on Yakubu, he's not a great improvement, or anything different, to what we already have

    Ahhhh, that'll be why.. I'm at work and can't access videos (banks!! ptth).. I'll watch it when I get home. If he goes to City, Milner will be one more player that I hope fails badly

    What page is that picture on? It's on a page titled something like "Possible Transfers, Clubs M-Z".. In the "Possible Transfers, Clubs A-L" it has a picture of Fabregas in a Barca top.

    Can either of Clyne or Matthews also play at left-back? I like the idea of us buying a few more up-and-coming youngsters as backups. Delfouneso, Delph, Albrighton, Clark and then Clyne/ Matthews etc.. bright future and all that!

    The Sun has us linked with Adam Matthews the 18-year-old right back from Cardiff. They also say that he would replace Luke Young who is set to join West Ham. (I would have started a topic but I have no access to the Sun's website) I think we've been linked to him before, so not sure whether there's much in this "rumour"..

    I like the look of that squad AVFC-POB but I'm not too sure about N'Zogbia. Maybe it's because he's playing with Wigan, or maybe it's because I haven't watched him as much as others - but I tend to think that he either has a game where he scores a blinder or he has a tendancy to go missing..

    It doesn't happen very often, but I think it is a possibility when it's Man City we're talking about - they do have quite a few players who are getting shut out because of the new transfers and they don't need the money so it wouldn't really be in their interest to shop around to find a better deal for a sale of a single player. 4 players for 1 might be a bit of a fantasy, but I could see a swap deal happening.
