I haven't looked through all of MM's previous posts but I'm sure quite a lot of them have been "we're looking at XXXX" or .. "we've made an offer of XX for XXXX". If so then I think it's extremely likely that deals can be cancelled/ better offers can come in from other clubs/ the players can change their mind or not agree to a contract. With so many parties involved it's probably hard to predict exactly who we will buy. If he has said "XXX is definatly signing" and then it hasn't happened, then fair enough.

MM was very quiet whenever anyone mentioned Boussoufa.. maybe there's some truth in us tracking him? I think Keane is the most likely and realistic person I could see us going for this summer. Ignoring all the saft rumours that Blues are going to beat us to him.

I think if we consider that we got Ashley Young for £9m. Then Ireland will cost more than that - he's performed at a higher level in the Prem and got their YPOTY last year. I doubt they'd sell him for anything cheaper than £10m.

I do agree it would be a great window, we'd be set for a good few years with only a little bit of tinkering needed in the following windows just to fill any gaps left by the older players. But I think it's optimistic to think we could get Ireland for £7m. Even if he wants to leave I don't think Man City would drop his price that low.

I'm finding it hard to believe we could afford all those players. Some rough guesses: Out: Heskey £2.5m, Sidwell £4m, Shorey £2m, Beye £1.5m, L Young £4m. £14m in. In: -Richards would cost at least £6m -Doyle and Rodallega are the best players in their respective teams and Doyle would probably cost around £12m and Rodallega would cost more towards £15m -Ireland would be a bargain at £12m -Parker is the best player in the West Ham side, so he wouldn't be cheap. I'd guess they'd ask for at least £10m (probably more). Randy would have to put forward about £25m-£30m. Unless we're counting the sale of Milner. I think we'll see 3 signings this summer. A right back, a forward and a midfielder.

I wasn't actually suggesting we go for Pires. I was just stating as a fact that he's a free agent who has commented on coming to England. I wouldn't really want him at Villa but if we did get him just to cover injuries or as a player to bring a bit of a spark in the last 15-20 minutes then I wouldn't be too upset. He still has the quality that he had when he was younger - just probably not for a whole match anymore :winkold:

Robert Pires is a free agent and has been quoted saying he'd be happy to come back to England (he even said he'd be happy to come to a team like Leicester and help get them promoted). Maybe a bit too old at 36.. I saw him in a few Europa games earlier this year and he didn't look terrible.. He must have a few free kicks left in him!

wiggyrichard, I only started playing the game on Saturday and I've already got a good idea of the areas and the different paths to different towns. I started off by doing a few of the missions from Bonnie or the Sheriff, but before long I got sucked into the game, scenery and some of the random people I've met. In doing that I ended up spening hours away from the original storylines and learning differnet parts of the map - by accident. Also - my game time is about 8 hours and I haven't even looked at the treasure map yet... I forgot all about it! (might have to look when I get back )

So they have Viera, Ireland, De Jong, Barry & they're trying to get Toure & Milner & probably someone else before the season starts. If Milner goes then he'll play about half of the gametime that he would at Villa.

Vieira's just signed a contract extension though, hasn't he? Or have I made that up? Nope, it's true! He signed a one year extension.

I originally typed that up and added the "(but I didn't shoot the deputy)" part, but then deleted it thinking it was lame!

You know when you see someone being chased on foot and being shot at? (it's usually the law chasing a criminal) Do you know if you're allowed to shoot the crook? I've only seen it a few times while on a mission so didn't want to get involved. It happened last night and I shot the Sheriff thinking they were just 2 random guys running around shooting

I keep watching the defensive midfielders and defenders with the hope that one will catch MON's (or our scouts') eye and that we'll have direct replacements for Petrov or L Young. (For the record - I like Petrov but I can see him becoming less and less effective in the next season).

Goal! I wouldn't buy a house in Sutton Coldfield while I was in South Africa either. James Milner has been my favourite player for the past 2 years, even when a few people disliked him because he didn't seem to offer us much in his first few months - I liked him for his workrate. But I honestly don't mind what happens now. If he stays I'll be more than happy because we'll be showing a true ambition to compete, but I'll also feel like we will have slightly missed out on getting the biggest return for him that we might ever get. Swings and roundabouts. If he goes then I'm certain Randy & MON will bleed Man City for all they can. I just wish we didn't have to wait through the whole world cup to find out!

I got sidetracked last night!! I planned to get the lasso and the bandana but I got the lasso, did a bit of horse-breaking, got sidetracked on a few stranger missions, then on my way through the desert I helped the cattle guy and was locked in a shoot out with about 15 baddies! I finally made my way to Theives Landing (I found out that's where the bandana is) and got sidetracked again! I hogtied some random fella, walked down to a pond (to try and drown him) and then a cougar jumped out at me! I love this game

Yeah, I'm still not convinced that him being in our England 11 is our best team. I think we'd be better if we worked on a system that had Rooney as a lone striker and someone behind him (Gerrard maybe). But Fabio has stuck with 4-4-2 for too long, we've only tried it for half a game - and that's no-where near long enough to get everyone comfortable. Anyway! Yeah he doesn't suit our style of play. We like to play with bursts of pace and Heskey slows down our attacks. Also! For England he was winning headers and long balls left, right and centre! For Villa every ball just pings off him and to the opposition. Does Friedel kick it wrong or something?

The Sun says that Stoke want Carlton Cole and Heskey. I hope there is a bit of truth in this! Heskey played well for England at the weekend but he's not what we need at Villa.

This day next month is the day we get to see the new shirt! Edit: ahem..

Other than riding them, not much. Run people over perhaps. What else would you expect to do with a horse and cart?! Sell it! You can sell the animal pelts.. surely a wooden carriage and 2 horses is worth something! :winkold:

Thanks Rino and Risso (any relation? lol)! Tonight's first tasks are getting the lasso and bandana! Can you do anything with the horse & carriages that you find abandoned in the desert? I got on one once, spent 5 minutes trying to ride it back to the town - but I took a corner too sharply and toppled it, which resulted in me falling off a cliff! lol
