4-5-1 all the way!!! I think it'll be really good for Delph to start aswell, we know he can cope with Milner and Stan with him

Does anyone know the answer to this? I've been waiting to see if my mate is driving and now I've found out he isn't!

I think Delph has been learning from Petrov. He is looking very comfortable on the ball even when he has a Bolton man on his back. We've just got to find a formation that can fit Milner + Delph into it! My stream went down from 37mins onwards.. After refreshing the page over and ooooverrr... it pops back up just in time to see Friedel take a goal kick and the hear the whistle for half-time! dooohhh!

My stream froze just as Ash's foot hit the ball.. I hear it was a decent goal?

The pundit on the post match reaction (setanta) just mentioned how MON cupped his hands to the fans at the wolves game, as if to say "how dare you doubt me..".. and then said that the fans are right and that MON is setting up his team incorrectly (he then went on to say that Gabby should be upfront with Carew as opposed to on the right and that we're not playing to our strengths by playing 4-5-1 etc etc) I'm amazed that Petrov got taken off.. I honestly couldn't see MON doing that

bahhh only got back from merry hill at 3.15 so just caught our goal! who's on the bench today? I was suprised to see dunne, gabby and milner on the pitch!

I can see us getting a goal in this game, so I'm strangely hopeful we can pull something off. But it's after the 60th minute, when Petrov runs out of gas, that I'm worried about. Chelsea's midfield can rip us apart - let alone when our best available centre-mid, can't get stuck in like he can in the first half.

Jimmy Milner is Brazilian, We won't sell for 50 million, He can play in any position, Jimmy, Jimmy Milner, I've changed the 3rd line as the "on the wing he's **** brilliant" bit doesn't work now.. Any thoughts?

I thought Downing played well. He kept pressuring their full back, he kept the ball moving for us and put in some really good crosses. There's a guy who sits behind me in the Holte and he constantly slates Downing. Last night there was an overshot long ball by one of the midfielders and Downing sprinted to the corner and jumped up in the air with his leg stretched but could only get a touch on it. The ball rolled out for a goalkick and the guy behind me said the usual "Downing is sh*t! Get him off!".... I don't get it.. :? For me - Young MOTM with Downing and Carew not far off. Delfouneso played well and, imo, offered more upfront than Heskey would have. It's looking unlikely that we'll get 4th or 5th. I just hope we can maintain our scoring and tighten up the defence for the rest of the season.

Bit of a risk with Delph starting, but if Milner is out I'd play a 4-4-1-1 like this - Friedel L Young Cuellar Collins Warnock Downing Petrov Sidwell Delph A Young Carew If Milner plays then I think it'll be the defence as above, but the same front 6 as against Wolves. I'm not too hopeful of Tonight's game.. I'm thinking a 2-1 win but I've got a feeling it'll be a right battle!

I don't think he will, he's not the type to "overspend" on overpriced players.. I think 9-12m is more likely what he will spend. Possibly a player who is not that spectacular but, hopefully, proves us all wrong!

MOTM - Ash. He played superbly and barely put a foot wrong. MON's subs were dreadful. I wish Luke Young could get a game, I'm sure he'd prove us all right! (for those of you being picky.. when I say "us"; I mean the people on this site who think that L Young is a lot more effective at RB than Cuellar)

If we get a decent lead we should rotate before the 70th minute. I'd like to see Delph/ Fonz/ L Young getting a run!

At first I was a bit dissapointed that we sat back, time wasted and played 4-5-1 for the last 15 minutes. But, on reflection, it was against an unpredictable Wigan side who have beaten Chelsea and Liverpool. Happy with the win! Super Jimmy Milner for the winner! I just wish that our midfielders had a few more shots from outside the box! We know that Downing, Ash and Milner can all score from long range - MON just needs to work it into the tactics!

Wigan play a nice passing game (when they turn up). There will be no benefit in playing Cuellar on the right. Luke Young must play!! I'd go: Friedel L Young Dunne Collins Warnock Downing Petrov Milner A Young Gabby Carew Centre back pairing of Collins & Dunne due to their performances against Stoke. If Gabby is still recovering from his bug then I'd probably take him off at half time and bring Delph on in a 4-5-1.

Who are our subs Today? I hope we see a change upfront coming onto the pitch for the 2nd half. I don't enjoy watching a front two of Heskey & Carew. Also, maybe a yellow for Cuellar will make MON think about bringing Luke Young on! atm it looks like either side could scrape a 1-0 win Come on Villa!!!!

Good win, decent enough performance but we need to be more clinical infront of goal - let's hope this doesn't dent our chances on Sunday! I would have liked to have seen a few subs after the 3rd goal, even if it was for the last 5 mins. Two out of Gabby, Milner and Ash should have been taken off. L Young should be in every starting 11, excellent overlapping. Downing is great when he has confidence, I can see more goals from him soon! Milner's my MOTM - Energetic for 90 mins as usual, excellent link up play and he seemed to be amongst every one of our attacks. Ash pllayed well, only just beaten by Milner for my MOTM because he was a little greedy at times. He took a few shots when he could have offered it on a plate for Milner.
