  1. We must surely be the worst team going to Brazil
  2. One Swallow don't make a summer, still an average performance against a team with nothing to play for
  3. I feel no pain when we lose, yet I feel no jubilation when we are winning, international football means nothing to me. We're just a mediocre team, it's like watching a David O'Leary Villa
  4. Are you watching the game? Gerrard been terrific. if this is the best England performance you've seen in many a year then yes I am, unless your many a year only means a few years
  5. trying to work out what that is, is it a Yugo?
  6. Gerrard is well past his prime, are there no better options?
  7. They look far more dangerous though, they've created some good chances
  8. Poland set up for the counter, so this is how it feels like to be Villa's opponents!
  9. That's exactly my feeling on this game so far, Poland look dangerous
  10. He's going to say this though. Having an outrageous lambo kind of puts to bed the idea that he wants a quiet life
  11. Aside from the Slams his performances for the most part except for 2 or 3 tournaments were poor by his high standards. Last year was a better year from a performance point of view which is why I'd view this year as a let down, hopefully after this op he'll come back as determined as ever to become unquestionably the best in the world.
  12. Bit harsh on murray. his season wasnt too bad. the secind half has been ruined through injury. he won in brisbane and reached the aussie final, he also won his 9th masters title and won queens and wimbledon. after that he been crocked He hasn't had his best year, leading up to and including the US open was lacklustre and getting to the Aussie Open final is par for him. He's got there a few times before. He hasn't had a bad year but it still has been a bit of a let down. Apart from Wimbledon there haven't been any high points at all. He was dreadful after the Aussie too for a few tournaments and had a injury break for the Clay season. This op was for his continuous bout of problems, it's not really an injury.
  13. Going down the rankings will make it more awkward to get to the final stages of the slams, but apart from that it doesn't mean that's his true standing. All the players play so many tournaments in the year to get their points up that it can't be great on their bodies. The players at the top are the most gifted physically, you need a win in the genetic lottery. I'm disappointed with Murrays year, he's won Wimbledon which is obviously great but aside from that it has been a poor season, I thought he might have gone on from last years US win to dominate. Heather Watson has had a major slide down the world rankings too, lost nearly 100 places since the start of the year.
  14. Batemans brewery in Wainfleet, Lincolnshire have a yearly beer fayre. I went a few years back now and they run a little taster session where you can score several varieties from mainly small independent breweries from across England. Some of the beers were above 11%, the taste tests were irrelevant by the end of the night, I was smashed. Maybe I shouldn't have tried to have a pint of everything and been a bit more selective
  15. If you live long enough there's a good chance of developing cancer but usually it's late on in life not to cut the life too short. Found out in the last few days that one of my ex's lost her brother in 2009 to cancer and then less than 2 years later her mother died to the same cause. Her brother was 29 and the mother 53, must have been so hard for the family to deal with two young deaths. I never saw my Grandfather, he died in his 40's came back from the war in Burma to be diagnosed with a brain tumour, spent the last 6/7 years of his life blind. My mum said she was pleased to see him die as he was in so much misery at the end, before the war he was a lecturer at Liverpool University, his life was ruined.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToRUXo4Gaz4 Here's Tsonga-Monfils as juniors in France. There's the full match somewhere but I couldn't find it. Youngsters struggle to control their emotions at all! Bet neither of them would expect that they would be at the top of the mens game as adults. Did you know Tsonga is N'Zogbia's cousin?
  17. Grigor Dimitrov has the assets to be the successor to top mens throne but I think it'll be another few years before he's regularly challenging. Be nice to see Tommy Haas have a good year, I love his style, and I forgot to mention Warwinka being a possible challenger for any of the faster court slams and titles in the previous thread.
  18. Just about to watch the youtube recording now, heard there were some tantrums. Anyway I think tantrums are a sign of fight and desire, rather that than placid emotions. Del Potro is on a level with the best, I reckon Federer will hang up his gloves next year, so I think the elite will be Djokovic and Nadal at the pinnacle, Murray (depending on how well/quickly he returns from his op) nibbling at their heals or maybe at the same level, then followed be a couple that on their day could still win against the top 3 of Berdych & Del Potro. It'll be interesting to keep an eye on Gasquet too. Ferrer is up there entirely on his consistency against people away from these top players but he won't really be likely to have a shot at the slams in my opinion. Can't wait for the end of year Masters Finals now
  19. Googled, zoink!!!! Must have been the personality of Pol Pot to turn that away Dip once, store in the wank bank. Next! That's how I live. Erm, honest. Now I'm 29 it isn't so easy, wish I hadn't been in any long termers and used my youth whilst it lasted. So much effort to get a shag these days I think is it worth it!!!!!!! Think I'm going to have to finally settle down, my days of one nighters are sadly nearly over
  20. I actually went out with Kitty Lea, kinda famous. Didn't really get on with her personality though, she thought she was something special
  21. Batemans XXXB is probably my favourite, Old Speckled Hen has a nice taste as does Old Peculiar and Hobgoblin. Black Sheep is another that's got a great taste.
