  1. I wish people wpul stop saying this, its pur team which were going to support no matter what, some of us would just like to see us use the ball better. If we all left when we didnt like a game we`d be as plastic as Manure and Chelsea. Or as fickle as Villa's fans?
  2. Why are all Spuds fans pricks? That's not the start of a joke or anything, I just wonder.
  3. I'm giving serious consideration to Murdering Phil Dowd.
  4. For the first time this year I have absolutely nothing to do today. The wife has taken the kids out and won't be back till tomorrow, I've not arranged to do a single thing with anybody. I've a box of 24 beers chilling in the fridge, the first of which will be cracked at 10 (and not before). I should be slightly merry come kick off. After which, I may have a smoke and a bath. Ah, the possibilities......... Actually, I'm bored shitless!
  5. With those two we would be challenging for the title!
  6. Just cracked open the first of many beers today! Waiting for my lift to pick me up in half an hour. Have a great day everyone UTV!
  7. Harry can afford to treat Pav like this, cos he has Defoe, who we all know is the best striker in the world. Bendtner is the best striker in the World, he said so himself. Rubbish. If Bendtner was the best, surely he would be playing for the best team in the world... which we all know is Spurs. The two would be very well suited.
  8. Be honest General, you couldn't get a ticket could ya!
  9. In 100 years time, people will talk about the way Liverpool dominated the 80's and the way Man Utd dominated the 90's and 00's in just the same fashion that we now glorify the fact that Villa dominated a century ago. Different clubs dominate during certain era's dependant on certain factors at the time. Not sure when Tottenham dominated anything though. I guess you could say that they have dominated mid-table mediocrity forever.
  10. General, For months now I've been trying to get hold of a pair of tickets for an event where demand far outstrips supply, but with no joy. Now I hear that Michael Jackson is actually dead and the tour is cancelled and no tickets will be issued. I hold you personally responsible for this outrage and demand to know, immediatley, what you intend to do about it. Hope the tests went well BTW.
  11. I'll say again. A super Off Peak Return is valid at ANYTIME on the Saturday or Sunday. This is a FACT. I have just looked again and the cheapest return on Sunday with Chiltern is £19.50. You have to leave from Snow Hill and Marylebone but you can get whatever train you want as it is a weekend and all tickets are valid as someone said earlier in the thread. This will work best for people who are travelling over the weekend only. If you are travelling back on the Monday then you'll have to get the specific trains. If you get the 8:40 from Snow Hill then you can be at Wembley Station by 11:05 http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/tickets-and-fares/ Under Off Peak. Looking at the details the super off-peak return is from Snow Hill, change at Gerards Cross and straight into Wembley Stadium. That will be my travel arrangements organised then. Does anyone know when any official club travel is announced?
  12. I'd go with Young's winner at Goodison, it was the first time in ages I'd jumped around a pub like an idiot and enjoyed every second of it!
  13. It's got to be the Sitting Sheryl Crow - OK so sometimes you get shit on your hands but it washes off easy enough. Time for lunch.
  14. Yeah, no question Guzan should start every cup game for the rest of the season for experience sake. He is also more than capable of dealing with the pressure in Semi-Finals and, dare I say it, Finals and will stand him in good stead for us in the future. Freidel will always start the league games until he either gets injured or retires IMO, if only to keep his incredible run of consecutive league games going. O'Neill will not drop Freidel because of form because you just will not see a run of poor form from him, he is just too consistent. Once Freidel does miss a game, bit it through injury or suspension - that's whe Guzan's moment will come and it'll be up to him to take it.
  15. Hi General, Watching the ITV highlights of the Blackburn game I noticed that the wrong badge was used on the graphic prior to the highlights. In these days of corporate branding and the fact that everybody at Villa is working hard to see the club move forward on a professional level this must be frustrating for the Marketing Director to see and difficult to enforce across different broadcasters. I know it is a minor detail but thought I would bring it to your attention because like said above, the Clubs image is important and uniformed visibilty of the Club image does help toward this. Wishing you a Happy New Year.
  16. When you say the "rest", surely you don't mean Collins? I think he is outstanding. Also think NRC can add something different to the side. I would agree that at the moment our defence would be safe with any 2 of the Cuellar/Dunne/Collins combinations. For me though, NRC's passing is not good enough for the level we want to be at, he may be able to come into the side and do a specific job on occasion but can't see what it adds to the side over what Petrov & Milner bring.
  17. Blackburn's 'goal' should never have stood, looked a blatant push from where I was sat. We should have been out of sight really and it was a nervy half hour or so between their goal and our third during which time we lacked forward momentum, even against 10 men. The defence always looked solid enough although Beye had a couple of shakey moments (he looks so casual at times it's scary!). The Cuellar & Collins partnership could really hold water in the future. Delph really does look a great prospect, every time he got the ball it was head up and looking for a forward pass and picking the pass out on most occasions, made a couple of tackles too, his time will come and will be the natural replacement for Petrov in due course. NRC was good as usual when breaking down their play but his distribution does (and always will) let him down unfortunatly. Young was at his best today, quality deliveries like today had their defence all over the place and looked like the player who caused teams so many problems just over a year ago. Downing probably had his quietest day in a Villa shirt today, I guess everyone is allowed one from time to time. Up front, Heskey worked hard and showed no signs of his recent injury and brought others into play well, some heavy touches brought groans from the crowd but I'm sure he has heard those same groans for most of his career. The Fonz deserved his goal in the first half but woould agree with the poster above that the knock he took trying to win the ball back took a bit out of him and was replaced with Carew who dispached his penalty with confidence and apparent ease. All in all a good game for Villa and confidence builder before Tuesday. Puts the Liverpool defeat behind us and we look to move on. I would add though that whilst this convincing win puts us into the fourth round I'm not sure if any of the fringe players staked a realistic claim to break into the regular starting eleven. I would guess that Delph will see a few games between now and the end of the season, Guzan is a more than capable deputy but the rest, whilst providing good cover do not particulary add anything new to the side.
  18. James Milner wrote the lyrics to every single Beatles & John Lennon song ever produced. He only handed them over to Lennon & McCartney when he realised that they were all a bit poncey.
  19. Got to agree that the disallowed goal for Stoke was very fortunate from our point of view, didn't see much wrong with it myself
  20. Explain? JC stabbed a young boy with the corner flag for callin him lazy.
  21. You don't need a team of James Milner's to win things, just one.
