  1. Twas good. Nothing I had seen from burns before made me expect he would win this. Well done. Same here. Big shock but what a performance. Delighted for him.
  2. This! When was the last time someone turned down 50/50 (near enough anyway) from the HW champ? Close fight between Simpson and Smith there. Smith taking the title by a SD. One of the judges somehow having Smith 116-112. I thought Simpson just edged it. Martinez-Burns coming up now...
  3. Just a bit! Imagine the uproar if the shoe was on the other foot.
  4. Darren Barker has pulled out of his Magnificent 7 fight with Matthew Macklin with a hip injury. Macklin will now face Georgian Shalva Jomardashvili for the vacant European Middleweight title. Ryan Rhodes has also pulled out of his bout with Lukas Konecny with a back injury and will be replaced by Matthew Hall. It is looking more and more likely that David Haye will face Audley Harrison in the MEN Arena on November 13. It is expected to be paired with Manny Pacquiao's fight against Antonio Margarito on Sky Box Office. Regarding Khan-Maidana: Boxing on Sky returns tomorrow night with Ricky Burns' shot at Roman Martinez's WBO title. John Simpson faces Stephen Smith on the undercard.
  5. Wouldn't the Klits be more suited to the UFC given their kickboxing history?
  6. Kessler has pulled out of the Super 6 with an eye injury. Kalle Sauerland has said "Disapointing news. Mikkell Kessler has pulled out of the Super Six. His career is not over but he will not be able to fight for a year. Professor Gerhard Lang Ulm, eyedoctor, confirmed yesterday that rest will lead to full recovery. Kessler suffered of problems with his vision. Muscle in his left eye injured. Kessler can train but no sparring or fighting for the next 9 months. He hopes to fight the winner of the Super 6 when he returns next year" Froch vs Abraham is expected to be for the now vacant WBC title. Ken Hershamn (Vice President of Showtime Sports): “We will publicly address how this turn of events affects the tournament in the coming days. I assure you we will make the best of this scenario. In fact, I have been aware of Mikkel’s situation for a few days and I have a vision for how we can proceed that will enhance the excitement of the tournament. First, I must have some internal discussions but mark my words, the drama of the Super Six will be unrelenting and we will crown a champion in the early part of 2011.” Judging by the last part, it looks like Froch vs Abraham and Ward vs Dirrell will be Semi-Finals and Green will be dropped from the tournament.
  7. I'm surprised they need to big up the IBA Heavyweight world champion! It would be more than hilarious...
  8. Yep, talking of people who should give it up... Roy Jones Jr has said he is going to carry on Looks like Bernard Hopkins will as well.
  9. Cant wait for this, being looking forward to Brook & Jennings for what seems like years now. Yeah, it should be good. Barker-Macklin is the one I'm most looking forward too though.
  10. Bit of an update for anyone who cares. David Haye - Reportedly rejected a 50/50 offer from Wlad Klit because Haye wanted all of the Sky PPV money from the fight, as the Klit's aren't a draw over here, and he isn't over there. Has also said this week that he will decide on his next opponent in a 'couple of weeks'. Possible opponents include Audley Harrison ( ), Alexander Povetkin and Tomasz Adamek. Amir Khan - Is hoping to fight Juan Manuel Marquez in December providing Marquez vacates his lightweight title and moves up to 140. Marquez is expected to move up as he is hoping to become the first Mexican 4 weight world champion. If a fight with Marquez doesn't come off Khan could face his mandatory Marcos Maidana ( ). Meanwhile, his 2 main rivals at 140, Bradley and Alexander, are looking like they will be fighting eachother in January. Carl Froch - Will fight Arthur Abraham in Monaco on October 2nd. If he wins he will go into the next stage of the 'Super 6' and could face Andre Ward, Andre Dirrell or a rematch with Mikkel Kessler who he lost to in a close decision in April. Floyd & Pac - Nothing happening with this at the moment. Floyd has been spending time with Don King lately and Bob Arum seems to think him and King could get the fight on given the chance. Meanwhile, Pacquiao will face cheat Antonio Margarito on Nov13 at 150lbs. Ricky Hatton - Despite throwing himself into promoting lately has renewed his Boxing license fuelling rumours of a potential comeback Rendall Munroe - 'The boxing binman' will face Toshiaki Nishioka in Tokyo on October 24 for the WBC Super Bantamweight title. The Magnificent 7 - Huge card from Frank Warren taking place at the NEC on September 18 which features a world title eliminator, three European title fights, two British title fights plus two championship showdowns for two 2008 Olympians. It is also going to be available on Sky PPV. That's all for now, kids.
  11. Woodhouse fractured his hand a couple of weeks back so the fight has been cancelled for now, mate.
  12. Sorry, it was a simple misunderstanding
  13. I bet those pirates have been eating bread too!
  14. You're American, right? *laughing* Yes. And I have been told we do too much with cheese. But every english friend or family member that has ever come for a visit seems to like it just as much when they try it. I suppose it's okay when you're just visiting but I couldn't eat that stuff over a sustained period (without dying ) Irrelevant but I commend you for not saying "lol" .
  15. Aren't most pub fights like that. A lot of bobbing and weaving but not many punches thrown. Willie Pep is the greatest featherweight Boxer of all time. I wouldn't exactly compare him to a pub fighter On the Bread fact, I realise the stupidity of it. Someone just posted it on my Facebook and I thought it was quite amusing. Did Willie Pepp eat bread before that fight? I'm not sure, I haven't seen any evidence that he committed any violent crimes so it's unlikely.

  17. More than 90 percent of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread.
  18. But would they answer honestly? I would.
  19. In Boxing, on July 25th, 1945 in Minneapolis, Willie Pep won the 3rd round of his fight against Jackie Graves without landing a single punch.
