  1. Londoner Haye, the WBA heavyweight champion, finally agreed a deal to fight IBF/WBO king Wladimir over the weekend. However, the Klitschkos' manager Bernd Boente has revealed that the contract signed does not specify which of the Ukrainian siblings he will meet. Should Wladimir fail to recover from an abdominal injury before the end of June, Haye could instead fight his brother Vitali, the WBC champion. Boente - who also confirmed they are exploring possible venues outside Germany for the fight on June 25 or July 2 - said: "It could also be Vitali. "In the talks, David was not rejecting Vitali any more, he was very flexible. That was never negotiated. "Knock on wood it's not the case, but should anything happen injury-wise (to Wladimir), as long as it is not three days before the fight or whatever, then Vitali could be the opponent. But first of all Vitali has to win his fight against Odlanier Solis on March 19 which will be a pretty tough fight."
  2. Yeah they were. Much like Wlad's "abdominal injury".
  3. During the recent rounds of negotiations the only venues seriously suggested have been in Germany as far as I know. I can't see it going to the scorecards so it shouldn't have too much effect. If it was to go to the scorecards I can't imagine that Haye would be coming out on top regardless of the location.
  4. David Haye, Wladimir Klitschko, Frankfurt, Germany, July 2nd...
  5. Approved for Pacquiao's Light Middleweight title despite Hatton never having a fight at the weight. Anyway, great night of Boxing tomorrow. On Sky: John McDermott vs Larry Olubamiwo On Premier Sports (With Bunce & Kerr): Daws vs Theopane O'Donnell vs Watson Fury vs Nacimento Witter vs Lupo And from the states: Montiel vs Donaire.
  6. How about the 3 minutes previous to that? :winkold:
  7. It was a pretty ugly fight. The clash of heads was typical Bradley head movement really, this isn't the first time he has cut his opponents using it. Following that Alexander had a cut on the eyebrow and decided he wanted no more. Telling the doctor "it's burning" and then looking absolutely fine after it was called off. Very realistic chance I'd say. I can't see HBO wanting a rematch of that so unless Bradley gets a golden ticket to fight Pacquaio or Mayweather, or Khan loses to whatever lightweight he will be fighting next we should get it. I'd expect it to be in the states if it happens though.
  8. Big fight in the 140 division tomorrow night... Timothy Bradley vs Devon Alexander. Both undefeated, black, American fighters. Should be bigger than it is really... but a massive fight nonetheless. Don't forget we've got the Light Heavyweight prizefighter on Sky also. Meanwhile Khan is having a lot of problems. His manager Asif Vali has had a major falling out with Alex Ariza (Khan's conditioner) and this has led to them splitting. Ariza is the man myself and Khan give a lot of credit to for Khan's win over Maidana. It's becoming clearer, and clearer that this clown has no place in Boxing. He's also failed to agree a deal for Khan's next opponent leaving him without an opponent for his upcoming fight at the MEN in April.
  9. Tough fight for McDonnell, but he pulls through and takes a MD. Good fight. Danny McIntosh's strategy of doing **** all for 10 rounds while showboating and pissing off the frogs in the crowd worked as he somehow stopped the equally terrible Karl. Awful fight.
  10. I'm struggling to see anything other than Hatton being stopped in that one. Top five P4P though? I can't see it myself. Don't get me wrong, I like Alvarez, I just don't think he will get to that level. Although if someone with as many flaws as Paul Williams can get there... why not? I love the idea of the Journeymen Prizefighter. It would be great for the forgotten men of Boxing to get the recognition and a bit more £ that they deserve. Right, McDonnell time... Followed by McIntosh over in France. Hopefully we should have 1 more European champion by the end of the night.
  11. I'd have Khan beating Alexander. Alexander struggled massively with the high guard and simple 1-2's of Kotelnik. Khan would use a similar strategy that he did against Malignaggi and take Alexander to a clear decision, IMO. I'm not convinced Khan has more power than Alexander. Khan still doesn't have a single KO on his record, don't be distracted by his stoppages of super-featherweights and the likes of Salita. Before the Maidana fight I fancied Khan against Bradley but after seeing how easily a fairly limited fighter in Maidana got inside of Khan, I'm picking Bradley. Like you say though, having Roach in your corner is a huge asset. Anyway, Darren Barker... Respect. Shame about the woeful sentencing.
  12. Yeah, it's a big one. I was more up for it before Alexander "lost" to Kotelnik but it's still a good fight. I'm struggling to see anything other than a Bradley decision at the moment. Timmy's a fighter I like a lot, and beats Khan if that fight comes off. Hopefully it does. a clip from the New York presser from last month. Some good lines in there from Kevin Cunningham but Alexander really isn't a good talker.
  13. Terrible news. RIP He was a good fighter, Mason. So much so he was actually betting favourite going into the Lewis fight. In other news... it looks like Wlad is going to shit on all of us and sign to fight Adamek in September. Vitali has said he wants Haye and will fight him whenever, wherever though.
  14. Less than 2 weeks after pulling out of the Chisora fight with a "2 inch abdominal tear".
  15. :? I hope you're not being serious. Who else is he going to fight? Mosley knocked out Margarito didn't he? But he went all the way with Pac Man... It will be over 2 years since he beat Margarito when he fights Pac. Since then he has been shutout by Floyd, in which he was gassing after about 4 rounds, and then most recently drew against Sergio Mora. :| Who else? The fight that the fans want to see is the completion of the Marquez trilogy.
  16. He shown by taking shots from the biggest puncher in the division he definitely has a good enough chin for 140. Moving up to 147 could be a different matter mind.
  17. Good in the sense that he shown he could take shots and get on his bike. Bad in the sense that he let Maidana get on the inside far too easily. Maidana was meant to be a crude slugger who could only punch, he shown in the Khan fight that he is a lot better boxer than we were giving him credit for.
  18. I'm going to add that he was fighting a super-featherweight at welter who had been stopped 4 times before. Still incredible.
