  1. I went on a couple of websites to look at buying some lingerie for my missus the other day. Now every website I visit has pictures down the side of incredibly hot birds wearing thongs. Not complaining and there is no issue work wise as my screen is not overlooked but it is incredibly distracting!
  2. You definitely correct in what you say Trent. My thinking would be that at the very highest level (i.e semi finals and on in the Champions League and title deciding games in league it is the really top players who can often decide it (the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Bale etc) These types of players are very few and far between and the big clubs guard them with everything they have. I would have thought that Hazard has the potential to be in this category of player. So I am very surprised they would sell him to a rival. To be honest I always thought he worked quite hard whenever I've seen him play but what do I know. Mourinho CL wins - 2, villaGlint CL Wins - a disappointing zero
  3. I did think about Fulham to be honest but it kind of underlines the point doesn't it?
  4. It's all opinions. For me it wasn't a "horrible" tackle, Alan Hutton makes horrible tackle. Sterling was the type of tackle players make about 30 times every game. It was there to be won. He's an attacker and he messed it up and went slightly over the top, it was a clear yellow for me but not a red. If you analysed every tackle as some people are on here you'd be sending A LOT of people off
  5. If you can get hold of any ketaprofen then that stuff is magical instantly solve any problem you have. It's basically ibuprofen but with ketamine. I had a tube once and it was amazingly good then my mum borrowed it and I never saw it again
  6. With regards to the takeover, timing and our budget for this summer. Surely if we scrape by this summer covering holes in the squad with frees on sensible wages then Randy will struggle to sell the club for a minimum of 12 months. Because if we go into the new season without improving the squad to any great extent then we will be on short odds for relegation. Can't imagine any owner wanting to buy a club looking likely to relegated and without the chance of doing anything much to save them.
  7. RV have a look at this website. http://www.athletestreatingathletes.com/ Shows you how to sort out issues yourself. Doctor wont do anything unless it is a private one. Chiropractor maybe part of the answer but it wont solve all your issues and once you're in their web it is a long time and a lot of money before you get out. Trust me I know this whole industry very well through personal experience and lots of friends who work in it. I would say Chiros are the biggest scam artists of the lot. From what you have said it sounds like you sprained your back through overloading the weight and not carrying with great form. A chiro will probably tell you it is because your legs aren't the same length or something like that. The website above will give you the tools to treat the symptoms without spending loads of money.
  8. I think the main reason people are complaining is not Senderos specifically as nobody really knows how good or not he maybe for us. I think it is more the implications for a takeover. If a buyer was imminent and looking to invest I don't think this signing would be made. It suggests we are still in the looking phase which may take months or even years. It is that frustration which is being directed on to Senderos and colouring their view of his football ability.
  9. I wonder when the last time he took a player on was? To be fair he has changed and all players do, at his best he is still one of our best players so I'm not one for jumping on band wagon that he is finished. If we're to do anything in the WC we need him sharp but that always seems to be a struggle
  10. Sterling challenge a yellow at best in my view, Valencia defo a red. Midfield of Lampard and Wilshere have been woeful defensively which partly explains why we've been so open. Though not helped by system we've played Ox, Barkley and Rooney all very advanced leaving the two very exposed. Lampard looking to old to make a challenge and Wilshere like he's never been taught how. Overall better hope Gerrard doesn't get injured. Have to agree with those saying we'll struggle to get out group (though nothing new there) over both games we've looked seriously crap defensively. Poor going forward against Peru and bit better tonight. Still if we were Italy people would be calling us a tournament team after performances like these. I'll choose to remain irrationally optimistic at this point
  11. Does anyone know how many games Jones and Smalling have actually played at CB this season? I'd be surprised if it is very many. I think Roy should have given Caulker a go, very impressive each time I saw him certainly more commanding than Smalling yet he never even got a sniff
  12. No start for Sterling, I am disappoint I'll bite my tongue and hope he starts the next game, really feel he is one of the players we have who can really hurt and surprise the very best
  13. Yeah but this isn't about TV losing sports. I am happy to pay Sky or whoever the same money I currently pay but I would rather watch all Villa games rather than a mix of everyone.
  14. Yeah but that is what I am asking - would it change the number of people who currently attend games? I don't think it would because we can all watch these games now anyway albeit on crappy streams and clubs still get good attendance.
  15. But I don't understand that argument - right now I don't watch any lower league games. And is it really the case that if we could choose pay to watch one teams games that people who currently go to lower league games would stop being fans of those teams so they could watch Newcastle or Southampton on the telly every week?
  16. When I first watched a stream several years ago and I remember thinking in a few years when they get the technology/broadband speeds right this is going to be really excellent. Fast forward 5/6 years and while most games are generally watch-able the quality is still pretty poor. I know the major networks want to make it difficult for us to get good streams so we pay for their "in country" options. But it got me thinking why cant we have access to a Villa season ticket through SkySports for example. I know the Premier League would say they want the focus to be on people going to the games. But pretty much everyone with internet access has been able to watch every game live for the last 6+ years and the clubs have still by in large still been able to fill the grounds. So my question would be is that argument valid and do you think we could ever get to a point where we don't have to watch our own team illegally and get to pay for just the games we do want to watch?
  17. I came across this just now and wanted to share https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuGGDYWZP5U With Messi being a little "off it" in recent months and Ronaldo being very clearly the worlds best right now it is perhaps worth reminding ourselves why he had to live in Messis shadow for so many years. For sure Ronaldo has assets that Messi doesn't have but I don't think he'd be capable of doing 90% of the clips in that video (or anyone else for that matter)
  18. No wont let me post images but essentially it is just a text convo which says what I put in post
  19. One interesting point about Keane (steady Trent this will be on topic I promise!) Howard Hodgson tweeted the following picture pic.twitter.com/eNalkNYhRv that he said he got sent a week ago saying Keane was at Villa Park with the new owners. So fingers crossed new investment is nearer than we think. More important than Lambert or Keane is some actual money to spend on footballers!!
  20. The club continues to baffle me.. no idea if Keane will be great or a disaster. But I'm amazed that this points to the fact that Lambert will be staying under new owners. I am sure Keane would not join for a two month gig so it points to the fact that they will be both here for the foreseeable. I am amazed Lambert has kept his job after last season, yes he had no money etc but it was clear to everyone he had given up at the end of last season. I'm not prepared to accept that from a manager of our club.
  21. I think Clark was good for most of the season when playing with Vlaar. I'm agreed that he was woeful when played alongside Baker. Trouble is when Lambert dropped Baker for Utd away game, Clark came in and had a shocker. He does struggle with his marking at times and Lambert bought Baker straight back in for the next game. Both are liabilities and have had a number of seasons to cut these errors out of their game. I've still a vague feeling one of them may turn out to be decent but I dont know which one and we cant keep having these seasons while we wait to find out. As I said surely Senderos is better but to be honest I haven't watched him closely enough of him to make a confident judgement on that.
  22. Only way to look at this is as a massive vote of confidence in Okore. Lescott would have improved the squad and given real competition for places but may have pushed Okore out the team and Lescott was obviously too expensive anyway. Senderos presumably is being seen as an upgrade to Baker/Clark. Its difficult to imagine him being worse but also cant say I'm feeling he's going to be that much better either.
  23. RV - yes same happened to me. Nothing sexy about seeing your unborn child move about while you have sex
  24. Anyone reckon they've got it wrong and he's coming to play. Cheap wages, add some much needed steel to the midfield
  25. Hmm maybe some smoke in the Senderos rumours. That Mirror reporter saying we are going to announce a new defender signing and it made him wince! Remember the glory days when we were minutes away from getting bought by Larry Ellison. Yeah.. these ain't those days.
