As mentioned in various threads, this next appointment will show the ambition and football knowledge of our owners and the people running the club. Obviously some people who they might be interested in will still say no or not be possible so it's not as easy as just go out and get someone.

He's not the one who spends the money or signs the players but yeah the club has spent about €150m since he became manager. And another €160m or so in the 2 season before he arrived.

Been one thing if they thought he was detrimental to the players but no way that's the case. Club might have more or less made up their mind about him but no point getting rid of him and the coaches before a replacement is secured. Might be a international break coming up but not all players will be away.

True. Thankfully we no longer have any old boys club like Barca does with Pique, Alba, Busquets, (Messi), Roberto who more or less run the club. Or guys like Coutinho and Umtiti who knows they have no future at the club but are so well paid that they refuse to leave. I don't rate Koeman and don't want him here (and hate him for that FK-goal against Sampdoria back in 92) but Barca have a very difficult squad atm

Barca lost a 3-0 lead at HT to draw 3-3 against Celta Vigo who scored in the 96th minute Lovely stuff.

Barca are 3-0 at HT in their first game without Koeman. Not that this has any bearing on us but he's not someone I'd want here.

The more under pressure they are the less likely they are to admit when they get things wrong or don't have things under control. That would be giving their bosses ammunition to replace them and most of them want to keep their jobs. Much easier to admit faults when things are on the main going well.

Up and coming managers might be cheaper and exciting but we've spent hundreds of millions on players in the last few years. Would be nice if we aimed for an established quality manager if/when Smith goes. Obviously we can't spend £30m on sacking and replacing the manager like Spurs did, but considering how important the position is we should be able to spend a bit more than what we are paying Smith. We are also in a much better position now than the last time we had to replace the manger. Not that it is easy to just bring in a good manager but still. Also could not give a rats a** about PL experience.
