  1. Why did Villa start attempting long, low-percentage passes?
  2. Ref is taking the piss. Nothing they do is a foul and all they have to do is go to ground and it’s a foul against Villa.
  3. How on earth is that a foul on Roger’s??
  4. Liverpool winner in 9th minute of 8 minutes added time a minute after a clear penalty to Forest not given. No favoritism here.
  5. Forest holding Liverpool and actually coming closest to scoring. I hope they get something from this. They deserve it.
  6. I watched from 70 minutes on and I dont think Kane had a single touch while I was watching. His name certainly wasn't mentioned. I had to look closely to confirm he was even playing.
  7. Freiburg equalize with a fantastic strike. Leverkusen are going to win the league.
  8. Had to mooney Kuga to find out what it is. Turns out it's the same vehicle called the Escape in the US. Escape means anal-fisting deathtrap in Croation, Serbian and Slovenian, so it's easy to see why they stuck with Kuga. I made that last bit up. Chevrolet reportedly had difficulty selling their popular US model, the Nova, in Mexico in the 70's as nobody wanted a car named "Doesn't go".
  9. Kuga means plague in Croatian,Serbian and Slovenian. Its sales are reportedly lower in the region due to the unfortunate naming choice.
  10. Kind of a reworking of the old Stephen Wright joke: What's another word for thesaurus?
  11. I've been enjoying Death and Other Details on Hulu. Nothing fantastic, but something we can all agree to watch. I'm not sure exactly what kind of accent Mandy Patinkin is supposed to have. It's kind of British-ish. And the Scandinavian interpol agent's accent is ridiculous. But the story line is absorbing.
  12. Are you suggesting Vill a need to invest in a medieval rack for BMH?
  13. They have a unique definition of “approaching” judging by the ages of a few of the people included on that cover.
  14. “Can you imagine being attacked on your economic policies by the inventor of Bidenomics? Talk about offensive!” Your policies spiked interest rates, sent the nations’ currency tumbling and severely damaged the nation’s reputation for economic stability overnight. Yes, I can imagine having your policies attacked for that by pretty much anyone, let alone someone who has overseen the best post-Covid recovery of any major economy.
  15. Wordle 976 6/6 Decided not to play the lottery today after this.
  16. Totally agree with the first sentence, but couldn't disagree more with the second. While it's true that they put out some stuff that didn't age well at all-- they pretty much started out as auditory stimulus for Kesey's acid tests, after all-- and some that was never very good to begin with (particularly on the later studio albums), and you will encounter some sludge if you decide to methodically listen to every recording they (or the bootleggers they tolerated/encouraged) issued, the idea that you "had to wade through miles" of it to hear find the good stuff couldn't be further from the truth imho. Any moderately serious fan of the band could readily direct someone unfamiliar with them to 3 or 4 recordings that are solid throughout and demonstrate how magical they could be. Of course, some people are just not going to like the music and are going to consider even the stuff you think is magic to be sludge.
  17. Did you ever see them live? If not, then I can understand why you don't get it. A couple of points: 1. The Dead were never really about the studio albums. Unlike most bands who tour to promote their studio albums, it was more the opposite with them. Studio albums were typically official, sanctioned recordings of music they'd been working out and had already played live lots of times. 2. No two shows were the same, so the Dead putting out multiple live albums can't be compared to other bands doing the same. 3. It's generally not been the same people buying all the live albums, but people buying some that have a particular appeal to them (set list, they were at the show, etc.). Only the most hardcore want and buy all the live albums, just like the hardcore fans of any band will buy anything they put out.
  18. The head Nazi is Henry Gibson from Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-in, a legendary comedy show from the late 60’s to early 70’s. Brings back many fond childhood memories.
  19. Another one with some nice symmetry, if not a particularly good performance: Wordle 973 5/6
