Although I disagree, completely take on board your point. Just out of interest, what is it you wanted Gabby to do more of against Norwich? is it work-rate or technical ability (or both) your not a fan of?
I rate Gabby myself - controversial I know. I think the work he does is not appreciated that much. For instance, his hold up play. He never loses the ball as such - think of how many corners/throw ins we won as a result of him. Also, it was through Gabby that we scored the goal, he retained the ball and controlled it well after a pig punt up to him, saw Holman in space, who crossed it in to Benteke - his job was arguably the hardest in all of that goal. For someone perceived as 'stupid' by the fans, he plays his role with a lot of maturity IMO
As for N'Zogbia, the lad has got talent we have seen that, but granted there are problems with his performances. Maybe its confidence? Maybe its man-management (how come Roberto got so much out of him?_
Potential solution to our problem -
KEA and Delph have been struggling in a deeper midfield role - that's why were not able to retain the ball for long periods. Why not play Clark in midfield - when he's played there in the past he can pass and retain the ball well, which will allow us to control games more and therefore give freedom to KEA to play a more creative role?
Apologies Philosopher, didn't want to make it come across like that at all. Basically as a lifelong Villa fan I've been selected to post a few articles on that site about how we are progressing as a team etc. The reason I put it in this thread was because not only did it deal wit the actual events of the match and player performances, it also highlighted areas for improvement and therefore potential transfer targets were discussed (the reason why i put it in this thread).
I was probably in the wrong for putting it in the thread, but to be honest i wasn't sure whether this was the case at the time. If you do get a chance, then by all means read it as it is just simply my view about how things are going at the time and if anything it wil stir a bit of debate I'm sure. I would have just copied and posted it into this thread but i'm not sure whether I'm allowed to do that!
Cheers!
That link wasn't working sorry! - For my AVFC West Ham Utd match review please use the following link - http://footballfanstoday.co.uk/2012/08/22/style-but-no-substance/
Any feedback would be much appreciated
In reply to Julie B, check out James Dodd's twitter account - not sure how to link it here but someone asks "Moyes for Villa?" and he replies "lunchtime tomorrow that might just happen!!"
To the tune of 'Baby give it up' as in the Nicky Butt song when he played for Newcastle:
Na na na na na na na na na na na
Ashley Ashley Young
Ashley Young

Na na na na na na na na na na na
From the Yahoo Sports Article regarding B.Bradley: "Bradley’s name was put forward for the role and was considered by Villa’s American owner, Randy Lerner, and his team of advisers. However, it was felt that while Bradley performed solidly at the World Cup and during his tenure with U.S. Soccer, there are more suitable options available."
Interesting quote - "more suitable options available" hmmmmm...
Nobody has mentioned this name - former Chelsea manager, linked to us in the past, spoken publicly about his liking for the Villa, now at Roma...Claudio Ranieri.
