  1. best of luck stan with your recovery, were all behind you,GWS!
  2. petrov has been good for villa, i remember we had a player & captain like petrov under big ron..kevin richardson,we knew kr was ok/steady but wasnt sure what we had till he went. HOWEVER,we replaced kr with a young man,a box to box player,a man who had villa in his blood just like you and i .. can we have another IAN TAYLOR please
  3. i had a option to watch the game on tv down the pub or take my son fishing, im no mind reader but the result is not a shock or the performance from this team, had a great time with my son.
  4. lenny won EH1 no question! frank didnt have that "finishing switch" in him.
  5. you see lenny v razor live?
  6. bruno 2 & francis, close for francis,to be honest you carnt explain it when you see a fight live over tv,take benn v eubank 1,you could see benn was punching him self out,his punches were loosing snap & eubank was taking the ring, boxing is a art, i can see where you view is from with football v boxing, football is about reading of the game, take all of our best players..mcgrath/yorke/barry etc, sometimes when you watch the game its what the do OFF the ball that makes them better than the other players, this is not picked up on tv,with boxing you can see 10 fights in 1,its like a game of chess,if you get the chance to see a "world class" fighter then take it,tysons finishing was breath taking, how he side steps when bruno was in trouble was head shaking stuff, his footwork,he speed of hands/feet/combo punching/defence. i have spoke to a guy who seen ali fight live in the 70s,said how good ali was,my punt would be tyson, because i have seen him fight
  7. insulting..ffs,have you ever seen tyson fight? no im not talking about on tv i mean LIVE! mate i have seen him live, also seen benn/eubank/hatton /calz/watson/..all LIVE!! the thread is about views, from what i have seen LIVE i think TYSON would have finished anyone off in his prime, his finishing was second to none.
  8. tyson defence carnt see ali beating a 20 second count from tysons left hook
  9. watch cooper deck a young clay 3mins in with a left hook http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnEDM4EC5kw
  10. I think the Ali who dismantled Cleveland Williams would have beaten a prime Tyson fairly easily. The second round of that fight is a masterclass from the greatest. Even an o] lder Ali would have been too much for Tyson, the 1970s Ali shared the ring with bigger punches and better boxers than Tyson ever was, and if the truth be told I think Mike Tyson is a bit over rated. His reign of terror over the heavyweight division came at a time when it was fairly mediocre, five years either way and his star wouldn't have shone as brightly. It would have been interesting to see Tyson vs a 28 year old Larry Holmes rather than a 38 year old, and I think both Holyfield and Lennox were better fighters in the 90s. Prime Ali vs prime Lennox Lewis (the one who destroyed Donovan Razor Ruddock) would be a much more interesting question. im a big ali fan too but mike was hard to hit in his day,how he got inside was quite something with head movement etc, ali has put on his backside in his prime by our henry coopers left hook, for me tysons left hook was better & more powerfull than our henrys,i carnt see how ali would have got through round after round without mike handing, when mike landed correct they went down.tyson by ko Ali was 5 inches taller and had a reach 9 inches longer, that's quite considerable, Tyson would have found it hard to get near him mate im not being funny, tyson faced height/reach disadvantage in 99% of his fights,in his pime it made no difference.tyson ko the lot, tyson under trainer kev/cus was very hard to hit as tyson head speed was so fast, yes when tyson was not in his prime he was easy to hit but were talking prime here.

  12. fighters hit a night in their lives when imho they wont be beat, tyson .. the night he fought spinks i dont think any from any era would have beat tyson that night, the night hagler fought hearns no middleweight would have beat hagler that night.. i have seen tyson fight live & it was special to see tyson perform

    Hangovers

before you go to bed after a "night out" take two Paracetamol & drink a pint of water. clear head in the morning
  14. for me carlos was my mom, great reading of the game & never put a foot wrong, great 1st half, very unlucky not to get a goal or two, thought we ran out of ideas in second half, had to leave game on 88mins to get the lad home so we missed the goal!
  15. yes but last year MA was getting better service with young/downing in the side..this midfield under alex is very poor.
  16. what AVFC need is a 5year plan, rl had this with mon,.. rl gave am a 2year deal, were near half way through now & we sit 6th from bottom, its not working is it? we would better off sitting down with lambert & drawing up a 5year plan, this way the fans & club can move forward as one
  17. Never been a big fan of Haye, and his recent antics have just made me dislike him even more. As for Chisora...plastic gangster, thug and just a general tool. I'd like to Chisora try and pull that shit with Tyson if he was still around! Tyson would knock him down like a tent peg! i think chisora would have done the same to tyson..he squared up to vk after the fight,he spat in his brothers face & faced haye within hours! i recall a old foe of mike tyson tried this (mitch green) tyson bashed him with one punch.
  18. im a big boxing fan & both the the brits were out of order.. david haye knows vk is past his best now & is there for the taking however he (haye) has done nothing to deserve a fight against the champs, dc on the other put up a good night work against vk, the best thing haye could do is take on dc as the public "wants it" now & then go for vk.
  19. we knew where we were under doug..hang on.. we dont know where we are with learner, ellis wanted a steady ship to sell,i carnt see learner in charge in say 5 years time, all we hear is "arabs/takeover/£/" any truth?
  20. i viewed appointment of AM with a open book when he took over,we are 2/3 into the season now,i have seen every home game & the players have not covered them selves in glory,is it all down to AM? im not so sure,we all know RL is running the contracts down of the "earners", certain players are raping our club of £ & giving little in return..is it AM fault?...no..on the whole aston villa feels dead these days from the very top to the bottom, were dancing with the dead men in the bottom, IMHO it will take more than a new manager to turn AVFC around, AM is yes in the spot light & rightfully so,but AM is just "another"branch in the aston villa tree, the problem in the villa tree is the "root" .
  21. how far we have fallen from the dizzy heights, ant other "big club" would act & get a top manager in,i remember spurs were like this before arry took over. act now or live with the out come.
  22. i would rather see delph at lb than warnock,i have lost all faith in warnock, delph is out his depth in the prem in the middle, shame about dunne,i have broke both my clavicle, the after pain is like marriage, dull & annoying .
  23. i would like to see gg in the side ahead of bannan/delph/,gg is aston villa future
  24. contained city for 45mins then like a splinter in your ass..a basic corner to defend, after that we showed nothing going forward, every player was scared of the ball, big praise to gardner, the boy tried & thats good enough for me..AM OUT
  25. aston villa under randys pick of manager is bang on where we are,the league has never lied unlike our manager
