  1. Bands gear stolen Bands gear stolen Bands gear stolen This pisses me off when it shouldnt. The amount of times I used to see on Facebook, people sharing posts from bands that had gear stolen from cars, vans or trailers. This is lunacy by the band and sorry, they deserve everything they get. You leave gear in a van, you leave a band member in the van. Someone should stay with the gear. You wouldnt leave 800 quid unattended on the dashboard so why take a risk in a strange town and leave the essentials for your job unattended. Ridiculous.
  2. I used to work at Butlins in the 90s and a CV come in to the entertainments department, really well put together CV, really good experience, funny, really took time crafting a hilarious eye catching CV. It was with a hint of respect as we dropped it in the bin calling the person an utter word removed. Never try to go funny on a CV.
  3. Interesting article about a BBC programme. To me the referee is making excuses for his failings, and is partly culpable. If a ref is aware and does nothing, then in addition to fining the team, some form of penalty should be imposed on the ref too. Unsure what and this may seem harsh, but the referees need to step up and say, this is not **** acceptable. The FA also need to make penalties realistic, so it hurts. I appreciate racists gonna racist, but things have to change, seemingly we are reverting back to the 70s. I mean really, monkeys????
  4. there is also a small chance that some passengers may be from Wolverhampton.
  5. Mine is 2. Paragraph on me at the top followed by relevant experience and associated skills and then ends with professional qualifications. The experience details gets smaller chronologically.
  6. Detroit Spinners over here. An English Beat situation.
  7. Years ago, 1992, I think the brilliant corners, played Lion Street in Telford, prior to this as a teenager I loved them, massively, it was a big deal for me that they were playing locally. They decided to let Fireworks off in the street, which as a pensioner I now know this was foolish, dangerous and scary to animals. At the time though, I probably thought what hilarious pop star hi-jinks. My (now) wife didn't, she bollocked them for their stupidity.
  8. beyond a handful of singles and their b-sides I didnt either, they were a band I stopped listening to very quickly.
  9. Fairly certain I havent posted this before though. Always preferred the original version of this, played it to death on its release, the bit towards the end of the original used to get me every time.
  10. all from the W section. This I definitely havent played since I bought it in 98
  11. Packing up some neglected CD's prior to the house going on the market.
  12. I agree with all of this and without spoiling too much, the final scene together with Jo jo and his mum, particularly the shoes really was done beautifully.
  13. I could in theory go 3 months, but would end up looking like Mick Miller.
  14. This just happened. I went to a barber for my fortnightly haircut, its zero all over, I know its not really a haircut its effectively getting rid of the stubble. So the guy does a good job, I get up to pay and the **** arsehole says working or pension? I think did I hear that right as he is from kazakstan, so I say pardon, he repeats, working or pension. I am **** 49. I even tipped him after that.
  15. I use it for one to ones with the offshore team I work with and thats it, nothing more and I think they would prefer me not to, I like to see the whites of their eyes.
  16. My mother calls me every Sunday without fail on the landline, its the only call made or received on the landline. We could call via whatsapp, she could call my mobile phone, but no, if I am not near the phone on a s Sunday then I get an email later that day saying I mustn't have heard the phone.
  17. I read one of his biographies and he lived a life. I had a problem with the Cash film Walk the line as like a lot of books it focused mainly on the period up to the early to mid 60s and the chronology was messed up. The thing with Waylon, he had an interesting early life, and then the buddy holly connection, as well as him running around with Willie, Tompall Glaser and the drugs and also his marriage to Jessi Colter. Its maybe too niche for a UK market, possibly even for a US market but it would make a good film.
  18. @sne I have been following the George Jones film(s) saga for a few years and wasnt sure if it had moved on, both Georgette his daughter and Nancy, his last wife were supposedly doing films, anything from this year or last where it may have moved on, I am really hoping that it has as there are a few great tales to tell.
  19. The Creepshow, Canadian punk band, played in Stafford last night and for old time sake popped to see them. We have a fairly good venue in Stafford, Redrum, although the promoters are intent on putting on punk acts or 2003 emo acts. Last night was the first gig there I had been to. I rarely listen to punk these days and I saw the 2003 emo acts first time round so have no need or desire to go see them again. The venue itself was pretty good, and although my wife insisted on being near the front, I am relatively confident my hearing will recover. The Creepshow were fine, the members might change and I have seen most incarnations of them, but their schtick that most punk/psychobilly bands do hasnt changed at all. Through circumstance I have seen Green Day around 5 times spread over many years and they could be accused of this too, same for King Kurt. The Creepshow seem more scripted than most, guitarist with wireless pack goes into crowd, female vocalist climbs on to double bass. 10 years ago I found all of this entertaining, now its just ok. So thats it for the foreseeable. today I will have a look to see if there are any country gigs I can get to.
  20. I am not going to look it up but I assumed it was shit mainstream Brit pop and "lads" music. At least one show description would involve the word banter. That's not based on Tony that's based on the name alone.
