Chelsea have the best team, especially in deph so it's hard for me to go against them. Also players like Drogba seem to be on form and up for it.

That was the problem last season! We played the same using Heskey as we do with Carew, there completly different players, Fiorentina was the perfect example, the wingers coming off their line and getting involved beside Heskey and moving around, that's how you utilize Heskey and we played very well as a team so Heskey won't be on the chances as such, it will me Milner, Young, Gabby, and a midfielder breaking from midfield. We've always struggled against Wigan at home usually as they defend the high ball well and are physically strong meaning Carew can sometimes struggle, so if we look to play through them more like we did with Fiorentina we might have some joy and create better opportunities than headed opportunities all the time. Obviously if it's not working we can make changed on 45 or 60 minutes. I belive last season at VP we started with Heskey though. We pretty much had a few chances in the first half and then we brought Carew on 65 minutes. This led to the countless chances of the line and Wigan camped in their own half. Saying that I expect Martinez to come and attack us so it may favour our approach. I'd rather us play Heskey in an away game where he'll work for every ball rather then Carew who can stroll about.

Last thing we need is Gabby and Heskey being on the end of the chances.

Good game today, we linked up very well and there was great understanding. Delph is completley different to any of our players, he has a change of pace, has the techincal ability to get himself out of tight situations, he has a good range of passing and he really likes to get stuck in, overall a very promosing game for him. Other players that impressed me were Heskey who led the line very well, Albrighton again came on and was very lively, this boy will make it with us and players like Ash and Milner attacked very well too. What I don't understand is how we can play well like that keeping it on the ground, then in some games we resort to hoof ball. Ratings: Friedel 7- Some good saves, especially the one from the Jovetic volley. Lichaj 6- Got caught out positioning wise on occasions but did alright, will come with experience. Shorey 7- Solid game from Shorey for a change. Cuellar 7- Another solid game from Carlos. Clark 6- Got knocked about a bit but didn't let much through. Milner 7- Seems like he's gone to skills school, fooled a few defenders, worked hard and got some good crosses in. Delph 8- Composed, good turn of pace, got stuck in and worked very hard. Gardner 5- Quite a poor game from Craig, lost the ball a fair bit. Young 7- Had some very bright moments, worked hard and got a nice assist for Heskey's goal. Gabby 7- Backed into centre backs well and frightened him with their pace, won quite a few aerial battles too. Heskey 8- Lead the line very well, used his strengh and held the ball up well for oncoming midfielders. Albrighton 7- Worked hard, got stuck in, a put a few good balls into the box, very impressive from Mark again, he will make it at this level. Carew 6- Mixed half, held it well at times but often got knocked over. Delfouneso 6- Lovely footwork and turn of pace but missed 2 decent chances and was easily knocked off the ball. Sidwell 6- Couple of good runs, didn't notice him that much though. NRC 6- Organised us and got involved with a few good runs. Davies 6- Seemed solid, harsh penalty against him. Lowry- Dunno Guzan 6- Made a good save or two...

Will be a very tough game, they're a very good unit and are one of the favourites for Serie A. They arguably have one of the best managers in the world and despite losing one of their best player Melo, Donadel is adequate replacement. I hope we win, but I can't see it happening, we just need a good run out and some some entertaining football. However if Villa Park is rocking like it was v Inter it'll help us alot and a win could be great for morale ahead of Wigan. Inter may seem like the bigger tie but imo Fiorentina will be alot tougher then that game was.

What? you working on Fifa 2010 or something? Yup, I've worked on FIFA 08, EURO 08, FIFA 09, FIFA Ultimate Team and now FIFA 10. Well make sure you give Albrighton and Guzan good stats after this
