  2. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/lifestyle/article-23739757-details/Why+will+no+one+tell+me+how+my+son+really+died+on+his+holiday/article.do Must be horrible for the family. It's shocking how this can happen nowadays. Hopefully Luke won't get rushed back and takes the time of he needs.
  3. I like Milner more, but Ashley is the better player of the two.
  4. Sting- Hangeland... Did you see how deep Fulham were, they didn't come off the edge of their own box till the last 5 minutes, of course when we cross the ball in he'll head most things away, he's always gonna do that at his size. However on the ground, did he make a significant tackle or interception? I can't remember one. He was also often outmuscled by Gabby when holding the ball up. Then I look at the organisation of their back four, for a supposed captain and centre point of their defensive unit, him and his teammates were all over the place at times, and we didn't even cause any significant threat like you said due to the lack of creativity we have. For example our 2nd goal the Fulham line was all over the place. I seriously don't get how Hangeland gets all the plaudits when Fulham are always that negative, well I guess I answered my own question there, it plays into his hands as a defence that deep and with such protection from midfield, it doesn't need the organisation of a defence like ours when we push players forward, it's also very easy to head and block everything away at his size. You said he has no bids, maybe there is a reason why, there are several clubs in need of a CB yet no-one has even made an approch to Fulham about him Yes you can say his touted price tag may put potential suitors off, however clubs still make enquiries. There have been a few whispers that Arsene Wenger looked at him like MON but had the same doubts about him coming into a side that plays a completley different system to Fulham.
  5. He's a cross between Mellberg and Laursen imo, and that'll do for me. Hopefully he can be as good as they were in their prime, if not better. My only criticism would be that he's a little clumsy at times, but I do love the no noncense aspect about him, although he tends to hoof it alot when we're not playing well
  6. Hallelujah. We play 4-5-1 at home, and guess what it works! I really hope we ditch 4-4-2 now as with Petrov in midfield as it's no existent. Petrov, Sidwell and NRC however as a three is perfect Then there's players like Delph and Gardner who can also do a very good job. Obviously it was a boring game, but tactically we were spot on, so well played MON. We pressed all over the pitch leaving them no time on the ball and whenever plays like Shorey started off attacks there was always someone there to cover if we lost it. As for Shorey I thought he was brilliant on the ball, even if he wasn't tested defensivley. Beye on the other side looked shaky, but he's still settling in, he's just a bit too composed at times. Thought Clark and Cuellar weren't tested much, but Clark added the composure the back four we desperatley need, even if he was a bit too simple at times mainly due to nerves. Good debut but I don't think he's ready for the Premiership yet. My man of the match though was either Gabby or NRC, the latter kept us so organised, and would always drop back when someone was in trouble looking for the pass. I was surprised to see him go off, he wasn't really happy, if anyone I thought it'd be Sidwell who wasn't as lively. Now to Gabby, 4-4-2 he lacks the intelligence to read his partners flick ons etc, however on his own he's brilliant. He never stops running, holds the ball up well, and generally seems to threaten more and is more aware of the midfield behind him. Well played to Gabby, hopefully the goal will bring him the confidence he needed, and get the boo boys off his back. UTV
  7. . do you have to come here and rub it in?????????? Stop being a pillock. He's come in here and had a fair discussion, there's no rubbing in at all.
  8. Right, its a bad night, however look at Everton last season. They went out early, finished 5th in the league and came runenrs up in the league cup. Onwards on upwards, I thought we took the right approach but a lapse cost us, however I do agree that changes should have been made.
  9. Fantastic drive and pass by Milner and a wonderful run and finish by Carew. Well played lads.
  10. Friedel 9- Some great reflexes, in vital moments of the game. Beye 8- Good positioning, good in the air, used his strength well. Cuellar 8- Looked shaky at start, but made some good tackles and got in the way of everything. Davies 10- Monster, blocked and headed away everything and even scored! Shorey 8- Used possesion well and barely lost it, didn't do too bad defending either. NRC 10- Showed exactly how to protect a back four, magnificent Nigel and full credit to you for taking your chance. Sidwell 8- Was quiet for patches, but battled hard and had the several bursts forward which took pressure off defence. Petrov 8- Very composed and clever with possesion. Milner 8- A machine, does he every take a breather, it's like having an extra player. Young 7- Quiet alot but battled hard like the rest of the team. Gabby 8- Ran the line so so wel, he's not intelligent but he puts so much effort and has a very good delivery from out wide. UTV Well done lads, this was a result we really needed and now lets carry this on for the rest of the season.
  11. Davies has done alright so far. Cuellar looks well shaky.
  12. We'll concede at least one, so we're gonna have to score three.
  13. No creativity and no desire to get on the end of crosses. It's worrying when your LB is a centre of the action.
  14. Not confident about this game, think we could lose heavily, although hopefully the players can use last seasons game as a bit of motivation after the beating they gave us then.
  15. I really feel sorry for NRC, he should leave for his own sake but I don't want him to. He looked really pissed off on the bench and I can't blame him.
  16. Yeah I'm delighted, we're in 2nd place, long may it continue 8)
