  1. I think with the current setup at Villa he has every reason to stay and be his last job.
  2. Friedel 7- Nout to do. Young 8- Caught out a few times but overall very solid and made a crucial tackle on Tuncay. Warnock 6- Worst game for us so far, still got froward very well though. Dunne 9- Fantastic, didn't put a foot wrong, I love this guy. Cuellar 9- Getting better by the game, and bettered Dunne today, won every ball and probably the best I've seen him play. Young 8- Quiet generally but his cross was undefendable and that made the difference. Worked as hard as ever too. Milner 8- Focal point of everything. Downing 7- Worked hard but quality was short at times. Petrov 7- Worked superbly 1st half, looked fatigued late on though. Heskey 7- Linked up very well until he went off. Gabby 6- Quiet game, worked hard though. Carew 7- Got the goal but I think his link up play was poor most of the time.
  3. Yeah Ashley Cole is a brilliant player, no matter how much of a ____ he is. So many times this season for Chelsea he's bombed down the left for Chelsea and got assists or goals, the Arsenal game for instance he was an absolute nightmare. He's also defended very well in a solid Chelsea back four until the past week or so.
  4. I recommend Oldboy, a Korean* film, at their best. Sick film but a really good watch.
  5. Tough game, not sure how to predict, they have no game tommorow so they'll be fresh.
  6. Friedel 8- A brilliant save at a crucial time in the game. Young 7- Solid Warnock 7- Solid Dunne 9- Blocked everything. Cuellar 8- Also a rock Milner 9- Never stopped running, creative and scored a sensational goal. Young 6- Put some nice crosses in, but seemed to rush things alot. Petrov 8- Everywhere, slowed tempo down nicely at times too. Downing 7- Involved but not as effective as Milner/Petrov. Gabby 7- Chased everything and held ball up well. Heskey 7- Good goal but little apart from that.
  7. Milner for me. Followed by Dunne, Warnock and Gabby. Hard to separate a lot of them though, all have done sterling jobs so far. Long may it continue.
  8. 1) Sidwell as you never notice him, he has a habit of going missing. He needs to influence the game more. 2) Carew as he is becoming far too lazy and not showing the quality of last season. Can't really say Ashley Young, he's not as good as he's been in the past but he's been no-where near our worst player.
  9. It would be typical of Villa to lose this. Will be tough for the lads to maintain the performance from this evening but I'm confident we can get some sort of result. What doesn't help is that Sunderland are on a bad run and will be desperate for a result and revenge for the Carling Cup.
  10. I can't blame the players today, I blame the manager for a change, the way he set us out was tactically appalling and we gifted a point to Spurs and it could have been more...
  11. If he sorted his tactics out he'd one of the best managers in the league. Still in the top 6 bracket though. If you combined MON with Bruce you'd have an ideal manager imo.
  12. Get Heskey on he might get his 1st on target with the way the game is going
  13. Technically brilliant, mentally poor. His skill will always beat the weaker opponents, but as proven doesn't have the mentality to out-think world class defences. Instead of being cocky individual he is, he should prove his worth in a big game, if not he'll be forgotten in 50 years time. I'm surprised really as he had a player like Larsson with him for Sweden who a genius at times for me.
  14. None in the starting eleven. 2 in the 23, Heskey and Milner.
  15. Hines was offside. Beye got the ball. If he gave the pen Beye should have been sent off by the letter of the law. He then books Young for protesting the decision and Collins at Half time for having a moan. Absolute cockface.
  16. feel exactly the same mate Well enjoy the Lyon game you two. These two posts perfectly illustrate the ridiculous fickleness of some of our fans. "I don't agree with the team selection so I'll not be watching." Would our reaction be different if MON plays a system that works? Yes it would. Some people are tired of the same system failing every week. You follow your club no matter what, no excuses to the comments, incredibly fickle.
  17. Only MON knows if Young is ready so I don't know how people can comment about that.
