  1. Will absolutely have to get to a meeting next time I'm back in the city!
  2. I'll try my best pal, I fully believe we are witnessing history.
  3. Certainly not! Got some very dirty looks off the Mrs every time there was a shot on goal LOL. UTV mate have a fantastic day
  4. Cheers mate. Just been relaxing at home since the visit.
  5. Just thought to myself- if we do qualify, I need to get to VP for a game. Easier said than done but I must.
  6. Really nervous for this one because of how much I have built up the idea of winning this competition in my head. If there is any squad capable of doing it, especially after yesterday, it's ours. Gaffer knows his way around Europe.
  7. As someone who grew up in London and held an interest in Villa before 'officially' supporting, I was annoyed by but understood the "why Villa?" question in an age where Chelsea were very good and also not far from where I lived. Now, after moving out of the city, I have had people online calling me a bandwagoner etc. Hope nobody else on this thread has experienced the latter but to be honest I don't really care at the moment. Regardless of where someone is from, if they are Villa they are part of the family.
  8. Scrolling through this thread while listening to the 140 year video is a magical experience. Wonder if they'll do a similar video for 150 years? Also, side note, wow... 150 years of AVFC. Such great history and tradition. Passed down through so many generations. It is very humbling to be a part of something that was around long before I was born and will be around long after I am gone.
  9. Amazing the power that football has to put people in a good mood. Not only am I up at half five in the morning to get ready for a day of shopping with the Mrs, I am actually excited to go and visit my parents on the 18th! Seriously, I wish I could thank Unai and the players personally for the positive impact they have had on me this season. Not sure how to explain this thought, but I said it to the Mrs last night, yesterday was the first time I have ever actually FULLY realised that I get to support this wonderful club for the rest of my life and pass it down the family- and that nobody can take that from me. Football is a beautiful thing and I am definitely romantic when it comes to the sport.
  10. Love FM, can't wait for 25 as they have promised it will be a whole new chapter in the series. It's coming towards the end of the real-life season, which I consider to be the halfway point in an FM game's lifecycle. I always get a bit bored of the current iteration and run out of save ideas around this time. Funny enough though, I have logged a lot of hours on this version of the game but I have struggled to get into it when compared to older versions. Lots of bits of time spent trying to get invested in about a dozen saves. I have gone back to older versions for a bit and it does seem to be working. 20 and 21 have been my favourites so far, 18 was my first. I do hope 25 is as revolutionary as they are letting on because something has been missing since 22 or 23 for me.
  11. Klopp leaving on what looks to be a very sad note for him, Salah could be off as well apparently... Liverpool could be going the 'post-Ferguson' way it seems. All talk, of course, until we see what manager and what players they bring in. Having Klopp out of the league could be a very good thing for us.
  12. Thanks mate, had an awful time with my mental health recently, won't get into it too much here, but I ended up in hospital last week. To be honest I was close to tears after the game, the bond a man can have with his football team is unexplainable sometimes. I am proud to be a Villa supporter and it is a genuine honour that I get to support this club for the rest of my life.
  13. See where you're coming from there, I don't really like any of them but yeah I guess it would be nice to have a different winner! All I care about right now is that we won, feeling amazing.
  14. Handled it like pure professionals, didn't they? Truly believe they are both loving it here, and we love both of them for sure. Watkins is undoubtedly in his prime for me, and what a player he is. Emi, well I can't think of anything to say about him that hasn't already been said! It's about time we reminded Sky and the rest of the football world that we are one of the big boys!
  15. His best season for us so far. Love the guy to bits. I've thought this for a while, but seeing him lean on the Arsenal flag has made me believe it even more- he is, for me at least, well on his way to becoming a Villa hero.
  16. Laughing stock at Arsenal, hero at Villa though. Was never given a chance there, typical Sky that is. He came to us with a point to prove and he is certainly doing it! Hard for me not to dream about what he could do over the next few years at the minute...
  17. Side note, very happy to potentially derail Arsenal's title chances. Can't stand their fanbase or their club.
  18. Thanks for reminding me they exist, I will be sure to tune in later LOL!
  19. Thank you mate, means the world to me. Jumped straight on my computer as soon as the whistle went because I knew I wanted to enjoy the feeling of it with fellow supporters.
  20. I love the man. Best Villa manager I have experienced so far and most likely one of the best I will ever experience. He oozes pure class and footballing know-how. Our Genius.
  21. Felt like crap mentally over the past few weeks, that has cheered me right up. Celebrating has never felt so good. We showed Arsenal what they are missing. We have a world class manager and a group of players I believe in. I believe more and more that this will be a season I'll remember for the rest of my life with each passing match. UTFV. Cherishing moments like this.
  22. All depends on whether Emery prioritises Arsenal or Lille. To be honest I'd rather the latter, I do think we can get a draw if we are on top of our game and have the right lineup though. Easier said than done of course, they have become a very good side under Arteta.
  23. Newcastle have done us a massive favour today, am I right in thinking we will be OK until the next round of games even if Arsenal win tomorrow? Think we can nick a draw if we're at our best though.
  24. I have heard a lot of talk that this is all about working towards a new stadium- that seems to be the case on here as well. Do we know any details about said stadium yet or is it all speculation at the moment?
  25. Keeping my hopes high... We can do it. I really think we can win this competition. All to play for in the second leg now.
