  1. He won’t be coming good - what we see is what we have. The guy does have talented aspects to his game and would probably tear it up in Spain or Italy - but he ain’t doing anything for us, apart from his 1 in 10 showings. Genuinely glad when Bert is ready to replace him
  2. Your gonna have to come again with this - it sounds as though you may well be agreeing with me ??
  3. That’s actually very worrying to hear
  4. Good grief - this lot would just crash right out of the entire 4 leagues
  5. You do realise he has been absolutely dreadful for approx 90% of his game time don’t you?
  6. Sorry I don’t see this at all. And Bertie is more entertaining imo
  7. For me its’s Jimmy or Budgie Gidman - McGrath - Laursen Gibson Sid - Barry - Cropley - Townsend Shaw - Deano subs Bertie Geddes Collymore Teale Yorkie bar
  8. I actually have and stand by what I said. Your good self might well be an odd exception and good on you. I wonder why that useless clown who played number 11 for us - was just as technically inept the day that he finished as he was the day he started. A strong first touch is either something that is natural to you or it isn’t. Take Brian Little, Gary Shaw, Dimitar Berbatov as classic case in point imo
  9. It’s really not - if you don’t have it, you don’t have it. A first touch and composure are almost exactly the same. imo
  10. I don’t think there is anything that Bailey can do - That Bertie couldn’t do, but better, apart from maybe run fast.
  11. Very true - but those brilliant bits are world class bits. No one will convince me that his goal against the baggies was anything but and the way he left KDB on the floor at City. Bertie is a typical consistently inconsistent winger - but his best bits are worth waiting for. Love it now he is back.
  12. Wonderful news - I love this little mercurial man. On top form he is ridiculous and a joy to watch
  13. No he is not terrible at all - but reality is that his ceiling is the championship - but crikey that’s still a hell of a ceiling and that’s ok
  14. Sorry I thought it was 84 - I will happily stand corrected either way it’s totally embarrassing given the amount of games played and the guy likes to dine out on it. If I were a striker I’d keep my mouth shut with this return. Thanks
  15. You wouldn’t turn it down though would you? Yes it’s a dream but it’s one we must pursue with purpose. Given our woeful cup defeat it provides further optimism for us
  16. JV - are you sure about this? In my view he is not a premier league footballer and unfortunately I doubt he ever will be. He is neat and tidy and seems to have the right attitude and I believe he is genuinely liked among the faithful - I think we all want him to do well, but he does lack that certain something to carry him to the next level. I take no pleasure in writing this
  17. I think he is just expressing how frustrating his time here has been for him. Gerrard cops the most blame for this imo - he never gave him much of an opportunity under Dean he was mainly injured. I think he just feels he has a point to prove. Wish him well and I for one will welcome him back in the summer.
  18. That’s a big shout imo - I never really thought of him as being a talented footballer - I can think of many players who were naturally more gifted that JPA. And being our 4th all time goal scorer is not a major feat given that 84 is the record although I would say he is much better than Gobby. But football is all about opinions - this is just mine and is unlikely to be agreed with in many circles. I liked the way JPA played with a smile on his face mind.
  19. I wish he would get a 6/7 game run in the team.
  20. Please - come on, you’re not seriously trying to suggest Ollie is anything more than average are you? Ollie is what he is - it’s there for all to see. If you see anything more than this - then fine that’s entirely your prerogative and opinion which you are perfectly entitled too.
  21. You are right when you say that there are not many strikers who will score more - but unfortunately that still does not equate to him being good enough. Certainly not for where we as supporters wish us to aspire too. Ollie is average - harsh maybe ? But it’s true. He is more miss than hit. To go where we would like to go, we need a striker who averages approx 18 per season and yes you are right - these are hard to find.
  22. And let him get fit, whilst show casing his talent to Emery - Traore imo is better than Bailey and I would like him integrated back into the squad
  23. If I remember correctly Sticks was getting terrible abuse at this time, Callaghan had some form of altercation with a steward and was roundly booed off at half time and never came out for the second half - from this point on Sticks was given a second chance from the fans - based I think on the fact he never stopped trying
