  1. I am not Ollie’s biggest admirer I will confess - but fair play he took his goal very well and is it me? But he seems a little more composed/ less hurried so to speak.
  2. It’s good news and I agree that we are better with him in the team, not only for his ability, but his leadership and all round good eggness! It’s just that if he makes a rick then it seems to end up in our net - maybe he’s just been unlucky, who knows ? But no matter he has earned the right to be our first choice centre half
  3. Yeah We’ll agree to disagree on this one TRO and Trez remains a truly awful footballer
  4. That back post stuff is nonsense TRO - it takes no skill whatsoever just to make a run towards that part of the penalty box. Trez is a truly awful footballer with hardly any talent. Yes you are probably correct about him having more grit than Bailey, but that’s not really a glowing endorsement is it? Both terrible and should never have got anywhere near a Villa shirt imo
  5. I don’t think anyone is committing to saying Tim is going to be amazing ? But I do feel I have seen enough to think he has more than a half decent chance of being a good player in time. I believe a year in the championship will do him a power of good
  6. I think he knew what he was inheriting TRO I think he is far too sharp of a manager to not know. I have little doubt that plans are afoot already to bring in his own players. I believe we still have some high points in this season to look forward too. I just can’t help but think that Leicester defeat cost us more than 3 points - I think it may have zapped some of the new found confidence - added to the worst showing under UE yesterday - confidence must be shaken and with Arsenal next, it’s not likely to return anytime soon
  7. I’m not sure I completely agree with your assessment of players coming through. Would you not consider Tim, Cameron and dare I say his name Carney? I would say all 3 have a very good chance of a career at the highest level albeit possibly not with us in the case of two of these
  8. You’re right of course, maybe the manner of the defeat is what hurts? Clearly not helped by conceding so early and not having Mings to rally the troops. I’m willing to put it down to a very bad day at the office ( hopefully )
  9. I totally agree - he looks like another one who could well slip into that “ if only “ category
  10. Bailey needs more than a break - he has had enough chances to prove his worth and comes up well short. Time to give Bertie the same level of opportunity he has been afforded
  11. He is half decent - but nothing too get carried away by. He will have a good but not great career imo
  12. It’s way over the top agreed. We’re always sh@t at City, so no surprise so far. If it wasn’t for individual errors last week, quite frankly we’d all be writing this one off anyway.
  13. He should be told to sit on the bench and let Bertie have a go - that’s my opinion to be honest with you. If Gerrard had afforded Bertie the same opportunities that Bailey has been, I doubt that he would have been shipped off to Turkey in the first place
  14. To be perfectly honest I think the atmosphere at VP has always been a little hit or miss, going right back to the 70’s and even the 80’s. However I remember going to Roker park and was waiting in anticipation of the famous Roker roar and to be honest, it was more like the Brummie road on a bad day - Also the first time I went to Anfield again in anticipation of hearing the kop in full voice, only to be very disappointed - so I feel that this happens at most clubs, some games electric, others not so good. As for the entitled bit - yes I think this also has a ring of truth about it - How many clubs have won the European cup after all. We have been spoilt us fans of a certain age - also we do rightly see ourselves as the flagship of the whole midlands region, so naturally it is going to feed into this. I don’t see this as being a bad thing - it’s expectation and so long as this doesn’t cross over into being outwardly arrogant I’m ok with it.
  15. That’s what makes footie so interesting - I would strongly disagree with both Luiz and Ramsey. I think Kamara is such a different player and it’s not a great comparison - however I know who I prefer to watch
  16. Who might this be in your view - as a matter of interest ?
  17. How can anyone not like our best player ? it’s baffling for me
  18. The problem here for me is this: both sides of this argument have merit. I don’t believe for one moment that Ollie is good enough for where we want to go. But then to go to that level of striker - it would cost a hell of a lot of money and attracting them here is going to be difficult. Personally I would swap for Nunez as I believe his ceiling is significantly higher in time.
  19. He won’t be coming good - what we see is what we have. The guy does have talented aspects to his game and would probably tear it up in Spain or Italy - but he ain’t doing anything for us, apart from his 1 in 10 showings. Genuinely glad when Bert is ready to replace him
  20. Your gonna have to come again with this - it sounds as though you may well be agreeing with me ??
  21. That’s actually very worrying to hear
  22. Good grief - this lot would just crash right out of the entire 4 leagues
