cracking tackle from delph which gained some well deserved praise from the italian commentators... he is looking fantastic so far this half...

good stop by friedel, although i am concerned about the fact that the ball always seems to fly back into the centre of the box when he saves shots lately...

delph is looking good.. some great touches, neat passing, great pace, etc... excited abput that kid... still a long way to go for him, but early signs are good...

great result and good performance... albrighton, guzan and young in particular...

my missus will be disappointed... the whole ladies section of our merchandise is pretty poor... she has commented on this quite regularly...

he should have had surgery at the start of the summer... he will be crap again at the start of the season... get slated, lose confidence, and do a jlloyd... i thought the days of holding off much needed medical treatment were over when ellis left the club...

i dont think his passing is any worse than anyone else on the team... pleased to see him in his proper position... thought he did ok...

thought albrighton was great again... clark did well when he came on... guzan was fantastic... he really looks a superb keeper in every aspect of his game... lijach, for me, just isnt quite there... maybe its because hes playing out of position, but he doesnt do it for me... good performance, considering they were quite a strong side, and we had quite a few youngsters out there... but it goes without saying, it is a friendly, so we cant read too much into it... but i have to say, albrightons immergence is very encouraging...

we are beating a very strong porto side... albrighton has yet again, been superb... an assist and looking very good in attack... downside is that curtis davies has gone off with a shoulder injury... hope that isnt anything too serious, although tbh, i dont hold my breath... i imagine, he will need that surgery, after all... on the plus side, ciaran clark is doing quite well...

i was expecting a few chances on goal tbh...

sidwell adding to yet another anonymous display to the many he already has in a villa shirt... shorey, again, being a fantastic passer straight to the opposition... his ability to do this is almost unparalleled in the modern game... osbourne yet again, being the best player for the opposition... lots of negatives, and not many positives to be taken from the game... pretty much following on from the last third of the season, especially after losing two thirds of the spine of our team... but it is only a friendly, so nothing can be taken from it...

great kit general... i view it as miniscule changes because last seasons kit was so good, with the view that most dont have to buy it, despite the alleged contractual obligations to nike... cunning plan, if my thinking is correct... with regards to the current squad, i am sorry, but the "small squad" excuse will not wash this season... there is only so many times in 3 years that it can be used... it was valid in season 1.. questionable in year 2... however, now, unless randy is ordering a cull of the squad as a cost cutting excercise (and i dont believe that for a second), then if the excuse is used, it will be dismissed by me, and i will not be a very happy villa fan... have to say, that this particular villa fan is starting to get a little concerned about the managers transfer dealings...

that is what i love about the player.. absolutely fantastic attitude, and such a wonderful dribbling style... personally, prefer his dribbling style to the silly little step overs that do diddly squat but wow the "highlight generation" fuckwits... its also a lot harder to do too, as he has to run at speed and switch the ball between his feet to take it through players... a joy to watch...
