  1. Hopefully after we get through against Hibs on Thursday (fingers crossed) he comes out after the game and in his post-match inverview for Villa TV thanks the supporters as usual but with a 'they drink in town' twist... Mate
  2. Villa don't have drums but we have plenty of two-poles (most courtesy of Project B6) and like you say plenty of flags and banners every home game, but don't be aghast at not letting the away team's fans be able to create an atmosphere!!
  3. I managed to get two in K1, weirdly selecting a seat with an exclamation mark designated as a 'future rail seat' would just flash at me and not go into my basket but selecting a seat with no '!' on it did.
  4. 132 tickets in total showing available at the time of writing so in reality only 100 or so have seemingly done this as well as Hibs fans who thought they were being incredibly clever and wouldn't get found out despite only just creating a new AVFC online ticket account, only buying a ticket for one game and a Scottish McName and address attached to said account to top it off having their tickets cancelled
  5. They definitely are, and I agree with your second comment however if any over-inebriated Hibs fans start coming out with any anti-English bile it might be a different story! I know their fans are in a different stratosphere in terms of bigotry to their Old Firm Glasweigan neighbours (in a good sense) but any pro-IRA chants might end with a thick lip/broken nose as well as still a sore subject in our city following the 1974 pub bombings, many Villa fans support the Justice for the 21 campaign for the victim's families and there are people collecting money for their campaign regularly around Villa Park on matchday. If I'm way wide of the mark in assuming many Hibs are of a similar political/reglious allegiance to Celtic then please forgive me.
  6. Home fans only, don't be directing away fans here @KennyC6270 best advice is to stay in city centre pubs/bars, there are no pubs in the vicinity of Villa Park even remotely away fan friendly, all very partisan and strictly Villa fans only.
  7. Told ya Only single seats left now even after the jocks who bought in the home end have had their tickets cancelled and still over a week to go.
  8. As someone said to me when I posed this question mate, you're never on your own at the Villa, you'll have 40,000 mates in attendance too!
  9. I've been told by very good authority this morning that the club have moved/will be moving swiftly to cancel any such tickets purchased by these new online ticketing accounts which won't be difficult to identify and the criteria to purchase tickets will be adjusted accordingly. As for any that slip through the net, good luck to them, bearing in mind it's cheap tickets and a midweek night match which in my past experience seemingly brings more of our lunatics to the occasion then I certainly hope they stay quiet and don't open their mouths to reveal their Scottish brogue!!! As I said on another forum, the last mob to purchase tickets en-masse thinking they'd have a jolly night out and be able to take the p*** in Villa areas got kicked back to Small Heath in 2003!
  10. These did go to general sale on Hibs site but sold out now it looks like.
  11. Silly that they've gone straight to general sale as Hibs fans will be gleefully trying to snap them up before Villa fans, subjecting themselves to either having the tickets cancelled by AVFC as will be easily identifiable (brand new accounts created today - doesn't exactly take a genius to work out which accounts have been created by Hibs fans) or a good old fashioned Aston welcome if they gob off in the home end after managing to slip through the net!
  12. Annoys me how the TV mics are seemingly placed right next to the away end, it's done my head in for years, I didn't hear a peep out of the Everton fans today but it's all you can hear when you watch it back on Sky!
  13. As I was saying to the guys stood with me in the Holte today, whatever he does, no matter if you can't quite at first see the logic behind it, I'll back it - because you know they'll be a plan and it will be for a reason!
  14. Classic Irishman's comment trying to tar all English fans with the 'hooligan' brush whilst in another breath no doubt chuckling at the whimsy of tens of thousands of Jocks descending whenever Scotland play at Wembley etc and go on the rampage. I've never seen hoards of p***ed-up English/England fans bathing/pissing/s****ing in fountains, rioting and covering the city in vomit and urine to the extent that occurs when the 'friendly' Tartan Army come to town so let's put things into a bit of perspective here.
  15. UEFA are brilliant aren't they?! An all-UK tie on a weekday, let's play it at 17:45! Further evidence fans are lower than pondlife in UEFA's priority pecking order.
  16. 1k is a pathetic allocation, no matter who's decision it is.
  17. A very Gestapo-like controlled collection process. If it is Hibs I'm not sure why the same process as a PL/FA Cup/League Cup away can't be initiated? Let people obtain tickets and allow them to spend their day as they please rather than treating every fan like a criminal!
  18. A common criticism I see of Bailey by Villa fans but in my opinion a short-sighted one. Watch the Villa video that shows every one of our goals from last season and then count how many he played a significant part in...
  19. Saw somewhere (but can't find it now) it's to do with refurbishment works to the Anfield Road End.
  20. I think I've already asked this but in my giddiness I can't remember the answer. Will we definitely be away first leg or could we be at home or away? Selfishly I'd like us to be away second leg as I've got more time off work that week to potentially go on a jaunt to Londonderry or Kazakhstan etc...
  21. Spent the morning looking at travel plans for the away leg for each of our potential play-off round opponents and rating them for ease of access, cost etc. On a completely unrelated note - I am now also single. Be'er Sheva here we come! (Only an hour's drive from Tel Aviv airport with scenic views of the Gaza Strip!)

    Tickets

Hopefully three points or a point at worst in the bag from the opening day and a European away day potentially on the cards a few days after (even if it is Londonderry or Edinburgh!), it should be sizzling at VP!
