    Unai Emery

More ambitious players you target the harder it is keeping it out the press. Fully expect to see Spain report Villa stories first this summer but its whether it's backed up by the reliable Villa Journos to whether its true or not.
  2. If Newcastle actually want him, he will end up going to Newcastle but be interesting to see how the Moreno injury changes plans at left back. Pretty sure Lucas Digne will want to be playing regular football so wouldn't be surprised if he does leave hence being linked with left backs.
  3. Early example of why I won't believe anything unless it comes from a reliable Villa journalist. Gonna be a long summer for a few people on here.
  4. Thinking the same but I’m also thinking knowing Villas luck we’d get drawn with Juventus!
  5. Always thought if Villa needed to win this game for Europe they would win but don’t think it’s going to be easy. Obviously helps that they’ve literally got nothing to play for and have been given a couple of days off before this but they are a really good side. Going for Villa 2-1 - will be nervy towards the end. Moreno going to be a big miss today.
  6. Think this is a deal the club will only do if Leicester are relegated as everybody knows they need money for FFP so him and Maddison will go for less then what Leicester are expecting. If they stay up then this will probably be too expensive and the club will move on. Have always thought he was a good player over the last few years, scored a great goal against us this season but I’m guessing like Bailey, his inconsistent so I’m not sure what he will add to the squad.
  7. Big loss this is going to be. Key to how Emery wants to play. Be surprised if his back for the start of the new season, surgery on hamstrings never a good sign.
  8. When he signed a new contract the club weren't in the best bargaining position. Contract had less than a year left, wasn't playing much and the team was near the bottom of the league. I'd be surprised if his agent hadn't got a release clause of some description in that contract but I guess it won't be cheap. Had to wait a year before we found out about Grealish's release clause, wouldn't be surprised if there's a few rumours floating about in the summer. Considering he only signed a new deal already this season, if there's rumours of Villa trying to tie him down to a new one over the summer then I would guess it would be to remove the release clause. Lets wait and see.
  9. Sure I have read that it's likely Premier League will get an extra Champions League place next season since the Man City and West Ham have fared well in Europe this season? This is for the new format which begins 24/25.
  10. Didn't think Leicester would get relegated but remember thinking they would struggle this season. No signings last summer after a difficult season last season with a league position making it look better then it was, and a manager that's been there for 3 years already just gave the impression it was getting stale but the Premier League is ruthless these days. Cannot stand still.
  11. Having watched Leicester defend the past few games wouldn't be surprised if Newcastle win 4/5-0 tonight. When Newcastle score their first goal think they will make it 2/3 very quickly, that defence just collapses.
  12. I remember wanting him gone after that Crystal Palace loss. Always get some one off poor performances so didn’t want to read too much into the Bournemouth game but after the Palace game (the Everton win was poor aswell) I’d seen enough. Pretty sure the fan base turned after the West Ham game….that was when it was when not if. In hindsight the warning signs were there in pre-season, pretty sure the general feeling was that we didn’t look good in open play.
  13. Can’t be relying on favours next week. Just got to beat Brighton. Looking at Leeds and Brentford this weekend, if we draw it’s probably not going to be enough. Always thought for weeks if we went into the last day needing to win for European football we would do it. Not changed my mind on that.
  14. Feel like this is going to be a repeat of the game at Old Trafford unfortunately. Liverpool have won 7 in a row but looking at the fixtures they have been against teams in the bottom 6, a Spurs side who are a shambles away from home and two narrow wins against fellow top half sides so I'm not too concerned about their winning run. I just think at the moment and I hope I am wrong come 5pm tomorrow, that we find it difficult to keep the scores level long enough when it comes to going away to the top teams in the division to try and get a result with the current squad. Man City Away was quickly 3-0 down (granted it can happen to any club), Arsenal away was another battering (I know it was Gerrard in charge but it's the same squad) and at Old Trafford we didn't really get a look in bar the last 10 minutes. Guess will be a case of trying to keep Liverpool out for as long as possible and try and go for it late but I think a narrow loss here.
  15. Knowing Brighton they will slip up against Southampton but then go and beat Man City next week
  16. No idea why I forgot the FA Cup final. Positive I guess this weekend is the Spurs v Brentford game is a 12.30 kick off so the result will be known before kick off.
  17. Daniel Levy usually likes to do business late in the window, don't think Villa will wait all summer for any of their top targets.
  18. Be surprised if Spurs sell a player to us this summer. There is going to be 1 position difference between us this season and I don't think Spurs will want to strengthen us next season.
  19. Yeah Brentford are not out of it yet, plus they will probably be playing a Man City team that have already won the league and with eyes on a possible Champions League final. As we know, Brentford are no mugs at home so will be in their interests to beat Spurs
  20. Cannot see Leicester getting anything tonight. Think Leicester will start the game well but like Everton yesterday, once they concede they will fall apart. Hope I'm wrong though.
  21. Think I will be more annoyed about finishing behind Spurs than Brighton. Brighton have been consistent but Spurs have been rubbish for a while now yet are level on points with us. To go 10 matches unbeaten with 8 wins and also beat Spurs but to miss out to them would be really frustrating.
  22. Would have been easy for doubts to start creeping in after the loss to Everton but instead they’ve gone away to Arsenal and probably played the best any team has played at the Emirates this season bar Man City 2nd half. More than capable of doing the same to Newcastle and possibly a Man City team who have just won the league unfortunately.
  23. Wolves result is probably going to be what killed Europa League but just have to say fair play Brighton. I had them down to lose to Arsenal, Newcastle and Man City but realistically they’re a good team and good teams don’t just have a drop off in form out of no where. Struggle to see them not beating Southampton at home which should be enough for them to seal 6th place and with Man City most likely winning the league next weekend they could get something out of that game aswell Not expecting anything from Anfield so any points we gain there are a bonus, hopefully Brentford can get a draw against Spurs and Leeds are in a position where they need a win to give them a chance of staying up
  24. Not sure he improves us tbh. Think he is living off a couple of good seasons couple of years ago. Doesn't start ahead of Kamara/Luiz and not sure he fits what we need in the two wide positions.
