Well for starters there’s not one credible source even linking him with Villa. A quick look at the Twitter account and it’s just full of clickbait nonsense. Villa having £££ and high ambitions didn’t seem to matter much to Asensio. I’d be surprised if Man Utd sold Sancho this summer but if he did leave I’d imagine he’d go back to Dortmund.

Think it will be difficult to shift Digne this summer with those wages, maybe he could be sold late in the window if somebody gets desperate.

I think we will see 3 signings and then need to sell some before sign any body else. Quality over quantity this summer.

Didn't West Ham finish 7th when they got the semi-finals of the Europa league aswell? I agree with this, I think there's more to it as to why West Ham have had a poor season. Poor recruitment (spent how much last summer?) and I just think teams have worked out how to play against them. If it wasn't for Rice being sold for good money I would have thought they wouldn't exactly be blessed with loads of money to spend this summer and think they struggle next season (if Moyes stays). Europe of course adds more games and requires Emery to have to rotate his players more often but if Villa go from 7th - 15th next season for example it won't be because of Europe.

Seems clear Villa have ambitious targets this summer which means it is going to feel like Villa are getting rejected by players this summer when in reality there was a good chance they were never coming anyway.

I think the same, cringed when I came on and saw a thread for Lionel Messi, but The Athletic and other UK media have reported Villa are interested in Tielemans so it was probably worth opening a thread to discuss but people need to stop believing random Leicester twitter accounts saying its a done deal when nobody reliable has even said it was close.

Going to be a long summer for you. I'd imagine there be a lot of days this summer where there is zero Villa talk!

Will wait to see if there is any more reliable reports before believing the CB reports. I just can’t see it myself unless a CB is sold. I get Konsa could play as a RB but having Mings/Carlos/New CB I don’t see how Villa can keep them happy even with the extra European games. Carlos was £30 million and no doubt on big wages, Torres/Laporte are gonna be £30 million at least and willcommand big wages and we’ve just given Mings a new contract which reportedly put him amongst the top earners. Just don’t see it.

Hope with all the money Saudi Arabia look like they are throwing around this summer they might want to sign Coutinho. Seems like the profile of player they are going for.

I'd be shocked if there is two midfielders brought in this window without an unexpected sale. Tielemans is appealing because he is a free transfer which means the club can allocate more of the budget towards getting a forward.

I expect at least 3 in but any more then that is going to rely on some outgoings first. I don't see much business being done early in the transfer window we are going to have to play the patient game this window. Think we will see a forward, right back and midfielder signed first and then it will be a case of moving on Nakamba, Sanson, Olsen, Chambers and Traore before anybody else comes in. These won't be easy and will take time to move on bar probably Nakamba who Luton will probably want. Also it remains to be seen whether Emery is going to keep or loan out Archer, Duran, Ramsey and Tim as I'd imagine he might want to keep them for the first half of the season at least. January has shown Emery will not spend money for the sake of it.

Strange signing this would be. He doesn’t start ahead of Luiz, Kamara, Mcginn or Ramsey and whilst he would add depth to the squad, I’m not sure Tielemans expects to be on the bench at his next club so wouldn’t be surprised if this doesn’t happen for that reason.

Still waiting for a reliable UK journalist to report about this before I get excited about this.

Tielemans doesn’t improve our first 11. There’s a reason why the top clubs are not being linked with him on a free. Probably a good squad option but I’d imagine he would want to be a regular starter. This won’t happen.

Way too early for this thread to have been opened. Got a whole transfer window to go through yet nobody knows who Villa and all those clubs will sign.
