  1. All these fake ITKs are just jumping on the bandwagon now so there's no news to report, what it does demonstrate however is that the tide has well and truly turned. It might take weeks rather than days, but either way Steven Gerrard's goose is cooked before Christmas. Purslow et al are just delaying the inevitable by doing nothing now. Let me be the first to say bye Steven, don't let it be a long goodbye please.
  2. Very depressing watching all this going on at our club. A very non-progressive manager somehow hanging on by a thread from game to game but not being held to account by the board or owners. Trust with fans being eroded more and more with every passing day. Fear of relegation now a very real prospect. (Wasted) investment aside, it feels like a return to the Lambert and Sherwood days tbh. Awful feeling.
  3. We're pretty bad too though. Just looking at it objectively. I know we're huge, and we know we're huge, but it must seem baffling from the outside, how impatient we are. So whatever we might think of Arsenal fans, most neutrals / other clubs fans probably think of us too.
  4. Well, Henry VIII founded the Church of England and Thierry Henry scored 175 goals in the Prem, so.............
  5. Both underused and misused. A terrible combo and a massive shame.
  6. I think I've missed something, has it been suggested a press conference has been scheduled?
  7. Fair enough, I appreciate and respect the maturity tbh
  8. Just proving my point. Not even engaging with Ted's post and the statistics laid bare. Not even going to mention or address the errors made today, or at any other point. Quality discourse.
  9. Because it's been an echo chamber in this thread for ages. Any time I've been in here expressing my view, as I'm entitled to do (this is a message forum), I've had people getting very arsey, making personal comments etc, all with firm backing from others who feel the same and are just as vocal and free to say what they want. Which is usually just a shallow variation on "he's our best CB so wind your neck in". Little substance. If at the end of the day my opinion bothers you so much then maybe just ignore it? Or don't, but you might want to leave off asking me why I'm here. It's the same reason people are in the Gerrard thread day after day complaining about him, they love Villa and not our manager. I love Villa, not Tyrone. I don't see you in there asking people why they're here.
  10. Both have been shocking at their respective jobs.

    The NSWE Board

Unless the decision has been made and Gerrard is gone regardless, that really seems like a "head in the sand" moment. But surely he can't want to preside over these performances from a business perspective any longer? Must feel like bleeding money at this point.
  12. What's so special about the Brentford match?
  13. Not nearly good enough lately. Really poor at times. It's a shame Olsen didn't look stronger in his cameo appearance v Man City, a stronger backup would surely have earned a shot by now.
  14. Damn, apologies for misunderstanding

    The NSWE Board

Time to pony up, Wes and Nassef.
  16. So he's not a poor or error-prone defender, but he is unprofessional? Reflect for a moment on what you're suggesting - that a senior and highly paid Villa player would deliberately sabotage a result and throw away 3 points when we're approaching a relegation dogfight, all with his international manager watching on too. It's ridiculous. Occam's razor - the simplest explanation is almost always the correct one.
  17. Something tells me the only hope of a sacking was loud boos from all stands at full-time. Opportunity missed, apathy wins. Fabulous, more of this shite next week then.
  18. Few players earning a wage in the premier league are permanently awful. That perspective makes no sense tbh. Watkins has good games for us and once scored a hat-trick against the champions - does that make him worthy of standing by, in light of his form now? It's not just the last 2 games and to suggest that is nonsense. Tyrone has senile moments all the time which create clear goalscoring opportunities to the opposition. Even in his best season he was getting caught out of position miles up the pitch, falling to sleep in the box during set-pieces, failing to clear easy balls etc etc. It's not a vendetta, I really like him as a person and admire his character. It's simple that he is not a good enough defender for Aston Villa, that's the reality as I see it.
  19. I don't think he even knows he has 5 subs mate. Puts the same 3 names down every week and Critchley been filling in the rest.
  20. If you're defending him after today's performance, I don't know what to tell you. It's pure cognitive dissonance to see what we've seen the last couple of weeks and try to deny it by having a pop at posters who point it out.
  21. They're not mutually exclusive, or a matter of "one or the other". Both Gerrard and Mings can be shit at what they do. And IMO are.
