Would it be unreasonable to add Gregg Evens to the speculation ban list?

Most of those numbers came in the first few games with us, then his form rapidly dropped off and we still bought him… we were sold a dud

If we could get the same jump in performance that we got out of Chambers he’s going to go from this… to this…

So essentially, we and Everton sacrifice midfield presence to help out the attack. it’s a shame both teams can only muster 4 shots on target playing this way… tactically, there’s gotta be a safer way of playing and still getting more shots on target.

As happy as I am with the win yesterday. I’m still disappointed in how it was achieved. we were the better team for most of the match, yet we still barely beat a poor Everton side. We still lack any identity and tactical direction. The only glimpse of something to build from was how we player when Beundia came on. The boy was everywhere doing all the dirty creative work that was missing in the first 60 minutes. Lil Emi being on the pitch made it feel like Villa had a genesis of an identity, a way of playing, a style. Something that’s much needed in the squad. A philosophy to work towards. if Beundia is the lynchpin to that notion, then he needs to be on the pitch more than Courtiho. Steve needs to be dropping his boy methinks

Been a good for Villa. A Win, a few loanees scoring goals, all (likely) league rivals losing or drawing, and SHA losing to one of our loanee goals.

The only player who truly knew his role in todays game

I think I’m in love with Beundia

First half we were the better team and largely clueless for it. Thanks to ings’s goal that saved that half when Beundia came on, we came alive. Pressing, pushing, trusting. We looked a decent side. that last ten minutes tho.. what an almost collapse. JJ official motm, but my vote went to boubs. Absolutely a boss in that 6 spot. Cash looked fantastic, Ings played well, more so when lil Emi came on. Big Emi did some vital saves. courtiho was meh, Digne wasn’t great either, McGinn needs more to his game. Everton are looking really poor, yet we struggled to really beat them. So things are not quite matching our desires yet. Lots of working needing to be done. but a win is a win
