Why is there so much hatred for this boy? Other than the standard performative hyperbole, I don’t get it. He wanted to move, he made it clear without any fanfare and he did it this summer. so, the club got something in return. He hasn’t bad mouthed Villa. He hasn’t done anything. Despite not signing Villa’s offer, he stayed fine with the club, interacting with villa socials and posing for pictures, even the “bomb squad picture” with Freddie. The only thing I can see that he’s done wrong was ask for too much pay, that’s it really. Can’t blame someone for wanting the best pay they can get. in hindsight he got what he asked for with Chelsea. (Maybe, hopefully)

Any news what he’s getting paid at Chelsea? I’m somewhat hoping that they met his 100k pw demands

You really are pushing that Carney is a bad egg. Why? what has he actually done? Not signed a contract with villa. He hasn’t spoken out, he hasn’t made his feelings public, neither has Aston Villa. What we know is 2 things. He wasn’t willing to sign Villa’s contract offer and he’s willing to sign Chelsea’s. That’s it… that is all. It is in his right to do such things.. and in the process Villa got a payment for this. Yes it’s not ideal for a villa fan, but it happens in football. Carney and Villa have remained silent and in my books that’s doing things professionally.
