  1. Everytime we knock it long it goes no where near wesley. It isn't his fault we can't find him.
  2. We aren't playing to his strengths and the ball is never to him. We need to play the ball to his feet so he can link up play. As it stands we hoof the ball and defenders are already in a much better position so he has to fight to get in front of them and the ball pings straight off him because he isn't a good position to receive it with his feet or head. He definitely needs to be more aggressive but he has gone fewer times the last few games. Obviously the 9ne where he got clattered but there were 2 others. He needs to get up straight away if he doesn't win a free kick and go straight after the ball again.
  3. He has been very poor in the prem and has cost us a lot of points. With poor wall placement against arsenal. Lack of aggressiveness to come for crosses and giving away an stupid penalty against bournemouth. I think steer needs a start. Shows no one is undroppable and we are thinking about what is best for the team.
  4. Yeah. So he could be struggling. Spending long periods of time away from your family must suck. On top of that he has got to settle in a new location and play in a system with a different style
  5. He probably misses his family as well. It must be really hard not being able to see your kids regularly and it could be affecting his confidence as well.
  6. He really struggled when he played there last year. Yes I know it was under Steve Bruce but to make the most out of your players you have to play them in their best positions. Plus if jack isn't happy it will only hatm the morale of the team.
  7. My view is mcginn Is way to high up. He is essentially playing as a right striker with wesley. When Jack has the ball on the left he has no options but to either play it forward to el ghazi or back to taylor. Mcginn needs to be deeper and come across so he can receive the ball when we are out wide. Against Everton we looked a lot more dangerous when John and Jack switched sides as wesley plays more on the left which forced mcginn deeper allowing him to come collect the ball instead of floating around when we are attacking. For me we also definitely need to play targett instead of Taylor. You win matches by scoring more goals than your opponents and if Taylor struggles to contain players then at least we should be attacking but we don't say targett has to come in for me. I'd also like to see a rotating front three where el ghazi trez and wesley swap positions in the match. Giving the centre half's more pace to worry about and the full backs having to contend with wesley. On top of that if we are rotating attackers it means wesley trez and El Ghazi will tire less quickly as they may not have to press or track back as much when they switch. This is important because we really need our subs in the centre not out wide.
  8. If he is out for another three weeks. Then I'd see if we could get the deal done. Because it means we'd have Davis as our backup for 2 months but if we get another say 7-15mil which we could spend on a winger I'd be very happy.
  9. Yeah but it also counts as a key pass. An assist is just a key pass that got finished. If they didn't count de bruyne would. Probably have fewer key passes than Grealish.
  10. A pass that leads to a shot directly after so Grealish's pass to Luiz counts as a key pass.
  11. An all left footed central midfield. Also Grealish has done plenty. 2 assists even if one was for luozs wonder goal. Assist disallowed. Created 14 chances and has blocked shots. Averaging 85% pass accuracy etc Hourihane defo has to come on as a sub earlier but Grealish shouldn't move because el ghazi and trez both look quite dangerous and nakamba is too good defensively to slot hourihane over him
  12. I think hourihane fits in as the super sub and should be used as such. He has got the ability to curl one in against a tired defence especially if we get free kicks. He has just enough pace and attitude to stick it to players when they are tired and he is fresh. And he is very good at keeping the ball and picking out the final ball as well. I think bringing him on at 60 or 70 minutes would be great and would certainly pressurise any team we play against except the top 4.
  13. For me mcginn has to come off there. He couldn't run and was a big reason why we conceded the second as he could press guendouzi.
  14. I think we will be a lot stronger if mcginn starts off attacks a lot deeper as the gives more options for passes and let's him more easily bring the ball up. This will make us stronger defensively. On top of that an earlier substitution for him at about 65-75 minutes where he is blowing chunks and bringing on hourihane or nakamba/Luiz depending on whether we are winning or losing.
  15. Luiz appears to be more skillful than nakamba but nakamba currently has much better positioning. Hopefully we will develop that and he will be able to start or play with our team. If we lose mcginn as well he will be an alright replacement as well who already knows our system.
  16. A @rodders0223 said he should come on for mcginn at around 70 minutes giving us a player who can play with energy for the last 20 keep the ball and is a threat to score from set pieces or from the edge of the box.
  17. He really does need to be deeper. He is best bringing the ball out but he can't do that so far up. On top of this Grealish is better than mcginn idn the final third at everything except shooting and should be higher than mcginn creating chances for our other players.
  18. Truthfully the masuaku sending off probably wasn't a red card. Obviously we didn't benefit in the Same way but it was a game changing decision and we may have lost without the suspension.
  19. Disagree. If we are going to score it always looks like it is going to come through el ghazi from our wingers (obviously Jack and John do it but aren't wingers). El Ghazi needs a bit more confidence to beat players and more defensive awareness but when locked in el ghazi has appeared better.
  20. For all his talk of positive play after the first 10-15minutes of the first half we were incredibly negative. After they scored we played attacking football until we scored and then we sat back again. I think there are 3 reasons for our loss: 1st our fitness is not up to scratch mcginn has no legs by about 70 minutes and should be taken off every game at that point. Bring on hourihane or lansbury and get someone who can close down and be aggressive for the last 20 minutes on the pitch. 2nd substitutions have been poor. Taking off el ghazi was a bad decision leaving us without a direct winger whilst we were chasing. 3rd they had a player who was dominating the game and we let him walk all over us. We should have brought hourihane on and had him man Mark guendouzi. Even if he isn't spectacular defensively he can put a shift in and we still would have had an extra man on the pitch. AND BONUS 4TH POINT is our players are at the same time far too confident and unsure of themselves. Our players have made stupid mistakes through lapses in judgement because they over estimated their ability I.e mings' header luiz's **** up in the Bournemouth game. But at the same time when we are in good positions the only players who really look to do anything are mcginn and our wingers. Jack, Wesley and anyone else who is up their needs to be more aggressive with the ball at their feet.
  21. More a combination of faults. Mcginn gave guendouzi about a minute to line up the ball and didn't press. This was both his and smiths fault as he was clearly too tired to do it and should have been off but he still needs to press. Taylor dropped deep playing Chambers onside before the ball was played and mings had a shit header which gave an easy chance. Taylor maybe should have reacted but it was a crap header.
  22. Can't blame on el ghazi. Miscommunication. He probably thought it would be to his feet so he could take a touch. Trez tried to play a ball for him to run onto.
  23. Maybe after 60 minutes and he is tiring. But I'd rather sub mcginn off first as he always looks on the verge of collapse for the last 20 minutes of a game.
  24. Maybe try what juve do with mandzukic. El ghazi up front ala ronaldo and wesley out wide holding up the play against weaker full backs.
  25. It isn't el ghazi's fault mings spoiled Harry Potter for him
