  1. Same. I can't tell if my lack of interest in England is just a natural aging thing or solely based on Southgate. The timing of my ennui has coincided directly with his appointment so I'm hoping it's the latter and I find myself interested in how England get on one he's gone,l.
  2. He's the master of beating what he's expected to beat. Can't win a game against anything remotely presenting a challenge. Got lucky with who we've played at major tournaments. And has succeeded where others have failed in not generally falling over the lower hurdles. But there's zero chance we're winning anything with him. His selections continue to amaze. Maguire.... again
  3. Is he leaving Newcastle for England? I don't see him getting the boot at the moment based on their overall form. Maybe if they continue to sit outside the top 5 in the league....
  4. It's almost like he's expecting there to be a backlash for picking him and getting his excuses in early. What an absolute prick he is. Good for Ollie that he's in, but shame he'll be playing for the fraud that is Southgate. I assume Emery has told him to ignore everything Gareth tells him.
  5. The advantage of it being a club in a certain EU league is that they'd generate more points for the player that goes there, potentially enabling a work permit to be granted where going elsewhere wouldn't. They still own clubs in europe as well. Whilst I agree with the sentiment, until it is outlawed and other clubs don't benefit from it, it's one of very few "level playing field" options we have if we want to compete with them. If we abandon this, then combined with our reduced sponsorship we cannot realistically compete.
  6. Ahh, the sentence could have been read two ways but that way makes much more sense!
  7. But if they did that then no-one pays for the hospitality that can get it for "free" from the concourse. I think they know we're not attracting the volume of day trippers and holiday makers that we need to to sustain that kind of hospitality regularly. They need us to be in the champions league and a sustained success for that. Then they'll not have to supplement the numbers with regular people who are fed up of standing in piss at half time.
  8. Weird because McGinn said the exact opposite. said he gets moody and stroppy when he doesn't score. Judging by the reaction to his missing of the 4th I'd say McGinn is right. If only he'd put it the other side of the keeper he'd have the glory on that one.
  9. I've always wondered what @bannedfromHandV dis to get banned from there. Can't say I've ever checked it out, this play always felt like home and never needed to stray.
  10. Brilliant to hear. Our physios haven't been covering themselves in glory with players returning from injury lately so I'm keeping everything crossed he's fit and avoids an injury this time round! Let's see what you can do Ben!
  11. Now that we're not building villa live at the same time, is there any chance of building a lot of the stand behind the current one before it's knocked down, giving us less time with a reduced capacity?
  12. I'm not sure a broken metatarsal can be blame on the medical team if it's a different bone. I dont have a great deal of confidence in them from the little we can infer from other set backs we've faced and the treatment given Carlos, but if it is a new break, or even a re break, it's probably not their fault.
  13. Not entirely. If we qualify for the champions league then vitoria can qualify for the Europa or conference and we'd be fine owning and transferring to them. It works for man city because the clubs they own don't get close to qualifying for the champions league.
  14. It's much much better with the detail. The fore limbs look out of proportion without it, which is mainly why I prefer the new one. The problem is that detail doesn't scale down well, whereas the detail on the new one scales down fine, without losing the effect. I dont mind the old lion fwiw. But I'm sure they could do a hybrid of the two that gets the proportions right and the "beastly-ness" right. I assume they'll keep a lion, and that they will flip it to the left, and expect they'll take the opportunity to revise it once again.
  15. That's what I'm reading in to that quote... but the injury rumours that have been leaked about our players to date have almost always been right. Suggests there's some loose lips in our physio team, or at whichever place we do our scans at. Fingers crossed until we hear more, would love to be pleasantly surprised
  16. Argentina because they're champions I guess. Uruguay because they hosted the first one. So they're claiming that this covers South America, Europe and Africa in terms of continents that have hosted that round. They're so corrupt. Before you even begin discussing the joke of the environmental impact this will have.
  17. I dont know how easily you can detect the strength of a bone without putting it through some first team competitive testing, but it's a real sh#tter if he's broken his bone again. It didn't feel like we rushed him back. We get no luck.
  18. Only reason they're doing this is to grant the Saudi bid and claim its the only offering from a continent due to host. They're a **** disgrace and it boils my piss. They're got rid of the old corrupt regime and replaced it with something worse.
  19. Why only almost? All the sponsors?
  20. I dont think hospitality in City's end stand is relevant. The stadium is new and doesn't really have any history or atmosphere worth worrying about destroying. The Kop doesn't, and old Trafford are taking their's out... Great point about the concourses though. Absolutely could do more for ours, even if there isn't as much space to utilise as the newer stadiums have
  21. I had a go using the very basic tools on my phone at making him a little chunkier ... I think the extra detail from the mane and to define the position of his forearms is critical in making the new lion look way better than the old one. I rounded the back and added a bit more to his front. I also padded the feet out a bit. Done professionally, I think this lion is a winner and just needs fattening up a bit, the below is my amateur effort....
  22. Wonder whats up with JJ. Hope it's nothing aggravated and just part of the planned return to fitness for him that he won't play competitively more than twice in a week... is that a thing? With kamara and diaby out, we're looking light but hopefully gives Zaniolo chance to shine on the right on the diaby role. Something I've wanted to see since we signed him. Martinez Cash Konsa Pau Digne Luiz Donk Mcginn Tielemans Zaniolo Watkins/Duran Tielemans given licence to roam forward and McGinn playing a more withdrawn role (a waste of his talents but we know he's capable of it) It's not great but should be enough to beat a team supposedly worse than Hibs...
  23. I get in that scenario the rules say you can't call play back or reverse a decision that was made. But the fact the game carried on after a dead ball shouldn't really be a factor. Play regularly carries on for longer than the period that had elapsed in this case, while checks are being made, if the ball doesnt go out of play. The fact a deadball happened didn't have to be the end point for a decision to be reached there. The rulebook says it does though. However, the United penalty after full time whistle was blown seems to contradict this rule , so maybe there is precedent for exceptional circumstances? It would create a potential precedent problem for how long is too long after an objectively incorrect decsison is realised, but fundamentally you can build that into the rules after this cock-up happened to add clarity going forwards. If they didn't rush the decision, and have such a loose crap process in place, the same situation wouldn't arise again anyway.
  24. I'd quite like him to get the England job.
