  1. The original point was that Smith plays too open in the Championship to achieve automatic promotion. I just thought I'd show the table after Smith had a chance to do something about our defence in his first window. What he did was turn the third worst defence into the joint second best, using only the notoriously difficult January window. Clearly the football he plays isn't too open in the Championship.
  2. Absolutely not true though. Here's the table from the end of January until the end of the season. We had the joint second best defensive record after Smith's first window. Before this, we had the third worst defensive record. Suggest's the complete opposite of what you said.
  3. They decided to start today's and the next two weeks at the time of kick off on the day. So next week will be 8pm. Every one so far you've been able to pause and rewind, however today's you couldn't rewind it, which was a bit odd. I've just checked now and it is on Villa TV now to re-watch if you want.
  4. Almost half time now. We started really lively and were on top then the goal came from nothing (Steer's save was incredible too). They've had 11 men behind the ball, virtually on the edge of their area since the goal. We were a bit flat after the goal but you could still sense that they weren't going to keep us out for the full 90. Also, Dwight Gayle is a prick.
  5. The semi final first leg was the only home game I didn't get to last season. I watched it on my laptop in my hotel room in Florida at 7:30am. Even there, the atmosphere gave me goosebumps. Wish I could have been there for it.
  6. Oh the Newcastle fans! Don't get me started on that lot! I can honestly say I've never once viewed any other club's social media hashtag because I really couldn't give a toss about anyone else but the Villa. It always amazes me how many fans of other clubs check our hashtag. Quite pathetic really.
  7. Small club mentality. It's funny how they think we have some sort of rivalry with them.
  8. There's just no way the season can continue and the fact that they're trying so hard to find a way sums up this morally corrupt cesspit of a game we watch. But I'm sure they'll find a way. Money grabbing scum.
  9. He's just what we need. Talks so much sense and has balls. He's absolutely right. Why should we give up our "twelfth man" for our final 6 home games when it might end up with us getting relegated. How would that maintain the integrity of the competition?
  10. I hate how it ended with him because it makes people forget how good he was. I honestly don't think we've had anyone anywhere near his level of ability and consistency. It was an absolute joy to watch him today, he was literally like a man possessed.
  11. Yeah, it turned him from a very good player into a great player. I've never seen anyone for Villa control the game as well as he did. The same thing helped Milner too as he never had the pace to play out wide. But yeah, watching that game today has reminded me that there's no doubt Barry is the best player I've seen at the Villa.
  12. The thing that puts Barry above everyone else is how consistent he was. I remember week after week he'd get man of the match. He was creative, had the most brilliant vision and imagination, could cross and shoot with either foot, danger from set pieces, bags of energy and he was hard too. He knew how to tackle and get stuck in. Absolutely brilliant player.
  13. Just watched the 5-1. Barry was an absolute joy to watch. What a player he was for us. I'd still say he's the best Villa player I've seen in my lifetime with Grealish catching up. I forgot what a burst of pace John Carew had for his size. Young was just popping up everywhere too and completely unplayable. We were such a good team and if O'Neill had a bit of tactical know-how about him, we could have been a force for years. I feel a bit depressed now after watching it.
  14. I thought he already did. Weren't there stories of him and McGinn going out with their other halves every Thursday for a meal?
  15. Many of these are the same noses that were cheering and clapping like idiots when that scumbag ran onto the pitch and attacked him. Just shows how obsessed with us they are that all they have to cheer about is when something bad happens to us. Bless them. (that goes for the other two clubs who think we're their rivals too).
  16. Another thing that at the moment is just hearsay I think. It's amazing how things can be so quickly taken as fact.
  17. I'm just glad there's no football. Sick to the back teeth of it. What actual enjoyment does it bring? Why do we do it to ourselves?
  18. Most people were saying it looks bad but let's wait for the facts rather than rely on hearsay. That is very different to rushing to his defence.
  19. That's exactly what I was trying to say earlier and I got accused of not criticising him purely because he plays for the club I support. I prefer to wait for evidence before accusing someone of something illegal. Accusing someone falsely of drink driving or drug abuse is slanderous.
  20. I heard his gate repair business didn't do too well so he's had to downsize.
  21. Now he's admitted he was out seeing friends, criticise away. He deserves it. But I would not defend him based on the team I support. As I said earlier in the thread today... I really couldn't care less about football right now. This issue is nothing to do with football. I just wanted to wait until the facts emerged rather than relying on Twitter and the Scum.
  22. Won't be for long. We'll hear something within the hour, I bet.
  23. Yeah, they'll say something like "An incident occurred, blah blah blah and a police investigation is ongoing etc etc etc. We will await the outcome of the investigation and any other issues will be dealt with internally". Or evidence will come to light and they'll immediately say he's suspended until further notice or there will be a genuine explanation (least likely, I know).
