    Disappointed that Pau hasn’t at least made the bench. Pity also for JJ. Such a start stop season for him. I think having Tielemans on the bench is a great help. I expect we are going to have to deal with a low block Everton. Need to take chances.

    Yeah I think Emery confirmed both are back training and available for this game. Likely both start on the bench.

    We’re back in a phase of VAR where they won’t change any subjective on field decision. For me that’s a clear foul on the keeper. No attempt to play the ball from the attacker and clearly took the keeper out of the game.

    I get why we need FFP but it’s also a pain in the hole. So many clubs are struggling, I think I read yesterday that Newcastle are in trouble too and they got to the CL promised land. What’s really frustrating is that the best FFP benefit comes from home grown players but they are the ones the fans want to see succeed. We’ve sold Grealish, Chuk, Archer, Ramsey etc. Even City sold Palmer. Gordon to Newcastle. It will be tough to see Doug or Bouba (or Watkins) go but I guess if the fee is right and he allows us to reinvest it might make sense. Look at what Liverpool did with the Couthino cash they got from Barca.

    Would he offer more from the bench than Zaniolo probably yes. But I don’t its a huge improvement.

    That’s the fundamental problem with VAR. The moment they see any contact they will stick with the ref. Until refs stop being fooled by clear dives nothing is going to change.

    Refs are now refusing to make decisions. He expects if it’s a pen VAR will give it. No VAR, no pen!

    It’s about 3 fouls. A push in the back and he’s caught his foot. I don’t blame the ref. But the assistant about 3 inches from it should be able to see that. I get Bailey’s reaction. He shouldn’t have done it but I get it.
