I thought Brentford were supposed to play decent football. They’ve set up like Sean Dyche today. 11 men behind the ball hoping for something off a set piece!

He’s just made the amazing insight that if you made a diagonal or straight run you could break the offside trap. It’s crazy no one has thought of that before

Who’s the co commentator on Optus Sport? Clearly doesn’t like Villa whoever he is.

Not to knock Wright as he was a top player in his day. But his day was quite sometime ago and defenders were slow and turned like tankers. He would’ve made mincemeat of high lines because he was so much quicker than defenders. Our high line is working so well. We will ship goals because of it but we will score so many more.

Honest question. Is there a bigger assshole in football than Arteta? Constantly on the verge of tears and has convinced himself the world is out to get him. Said Villa “didn’t create anything” last night. He clearly missed the goal we scored after cutting them open and scoring from 5-6 yards out.

Let’s all try to remember we are a work in progress. Every performance will be slightly less than what we saw on Wednesday. I’ve no doubt Arsenal will cause us problems and but we will give as good as we get. All about the moments at both ends of the pitch. I’m sure Emi won’t need any pep talks before this one.

Amazing win. But more importantly a we absolutely deserved it. Better team by some distance. Up to 3rd and Arsenal at the weekend.

Because the lino flagged it made it a lot easier. If it looked out they just moved on. Different story if the flag had stayed down.

Not sure how we aren’t winning this game! Much the better team. Quite a few chances. He kept city to very little. Need another 45mins like that and we will be on 14 straight home wins.

How is that not a foul on Digne from Walker? Nowhere near the ball just elbows Digne in the ribs.

Not the team I’d have started. But I’m no Unai! The thought process must be that Haaland is likely to bully both Pau and Konsa so we need Diego in there. Big night for Youri, he needs to pull the strings! A box of Bouba, Luiz, Youri and McGinn should give us some much needed stability in midfield. I just worry about us going forward. We need to keep the ball or City will wear us down.

I think it depends on the circumstances of the draw. But usually against the best team in Europe you’d probably take a draw. But we have a great chance to beat them. No Rodri, KDB, Jack, Doku, we should be looking to go for the kill here. Having said that all their replacements will be 50-60m players so no major drop in quality.

I think the way we play is as important as the players on the pitch today. We need to be front foot from the outset. City will likely have Kovatic or Stones playing at DM who won’t offer what Rodri does. We need Dougie, McGinn, Diaby, Bailey putting pressure on him from the off. If we can win the ball high and get at their back 4 I think we can cause them issues. Get Bailey and Diaby in between the CB and the full back or Ollie between the full backs. I think I’d prefer to start Konsa at CB and put Cash in at RB. Not sure Moreno is really to start at LB just yet. Especially against City.

Talk that United will let Sancho go for 26m. I’d take him at that vale. I think the issue is we are now a genuine threat to them in the too 4 so they won’t want to sell to us. Talk he’s going to go to Juve!

Such a poor decision to not play on for Grealish there. The English refs continue to be the worst in the world.
