Agreed, really don’t want him to leave. But...if the whole team is enhanced by using funds from his sale, that would soften the blow. Worst case would be if we were just selling him for the sake of FFP and were unable to strengthen at all. I don’t want him to leave though and we would be much stronger with him in the side, surround him with quality and we would really be a force to be reckoned with.

Really enjoying all this transfer activity, links and rumours. Certainly didn’t envisage anything like this before the takeover, what a total turnaround! From fear and misery to optimism... Looks like we’re launching an assault on promotion if we get most of these players in and I am actually feeling quite excited now.

It does and I don’t understand why...we’re really going to suffer if he leaves and he would be almost impossible to replace. I don’t think we would have the time or money to do so either so we would be drastically weakened.

1 - Nyland? 4 - New CB (Tuanzebe/Huth/?) 7 - Snodgrass or similar/Powell? 11 - Abraham? Hopefully we’ve intentionally left those numbers available for new signings...? Would be all set for a promotion push if we strengthen in those areas too.

Feeling excited and optimistic now, looks like we’re trying to strengthen the team and really challenge for promotion. No idea what the situation with FFP is but we can actually look forward to the season instead of fearing for our future. I assume Bruce is under pressure to start well and maintain a promotion push.

Would love it if he came here (almost a guarantee of becoming an established PL side again) but it just seems so unlikely. He won’t be short on offers and many will appear to be more attractive unless the owners can convince him he will be able to spend lavishly once we go up ?

Would be madness to sell now, so close to the end of the window and start of the season. It’d be like throwing the towel in and make a promotion challenge way more difficul, impossible even. He’s too important to us and easily our best player and the best or most talented player in this league, by far. How would we replace him anyway and do we even have time to? I don’t want him to leave but we could at least wait until January and come up with some kind of plan regarding reinforcements etc. should an acceptable bid be received. I’m sure the new owners have been looking at ways to deal with FFP too and why say we don’t have to sell anyone and then sell for less than a crazy bid? As far as Spurs are concerned, say it’s £40m+ put up or shut up.

Don’t we need a proper LB (and CB) more than anything else? We were linked to Joe Bryan last season, any good? Also, are we suddenly able to afford transfer fees now or just loans?

PL interest could scupper this unfortunately, Palace are rumoured to be interested...

Tammy Abraham : 23 goals in 41 games for Bristol City in 2016/17. Sounds good to me. Completely different case playing for a struggling PL team in Swansea who were relegated.
