Excellent signing, surprised we got him tbh. His influence will grow as he plays more games and builds up his fitness, absolute quality at this level.

Love this guy, has been excellent ever since he returned to the side and really seems to enjoy his football.

Loving that 2nd goal, we actually look like a team that is capable of attacking and scoring goals, very much hope we can continue in this vein. If so, there will be a lot less, if any, criticism of Bruce. I just would have liked him to realise or set the team up like this earlier but better late than never. Hope we can put Wolves and Leeds in their place, we should never feel inferior to those sides...

I'm curious as to why exactly Dr. Xia has followed Pep Clotet (would welcome him here) on Twitter (but worryingly so, Rene Meulensteen too) P.S. Why the **** are Bruce and co. still here ?

I am sick to death of this **** Being a supporter of this club has been utterly depressing and draining, we haven't looked like or demonstrated that we are a big club in any way, shape or form. We have a scared shitless manager who has instilled such a negative mentality into the club and that can't be allowed to continue. Why are we wasting time, why are we wasting another season? Does this club actually want to get promoted? We are going nowhere and just allowing the same old cycle of **** to continue! How many times have we got to go through and put up with this repetitive crap. It's beyond any "patience" or "stability", we shouldn't be having to continually tolerate these constant poor performances, lack of progress and negativity. We are continually being embarrassed by smaller teams and just look rudderless. Bruce has had ages and has made no progress and has continued to appear to be clueless - the job is clearly too much or too big for him. He and his coaching staff need to be removed and replaced with a new management team (a manager with a philosophy and set idea of how he wants his team to play with a team of coaches ready to go) that has an attacking mindset. We should be dominating and blowing teams away at this level, what the **** have we been doing? Why the hell is Bruce still here? Yet again! We have to make a change before it is too late. FFS How far have we fallen when we are envious of teams such as Leeds and Wolves??

Let's just realise that we're never going to be rid of him (until his contract is up - what a truly disastrous signing and massive, ongoing, waste of money), it would take some kind of miracle for him to either leave or somehow become a useful squad member. No point holding onto hope... Maybe some dedicated coaching with Terry could somehow improve him and make him realise how to defend... or not...

I hope that does it but Bruce needs to stop being weak minded, defensive and scared of the opposition. Stop messing with the formation and figure out his best side. Snodgrass should enhance us but we need to focus on becoming an attacking side and stop giving other side's too much respect or showing fear...

Onomah by far the best player we have and he's not even ours... When will Bruce learn? Pathetic, defensive mentality and messing about with the formation.

Don't think it'd be a bad idea to get him more involved now, especially with Baker leaving. He could be decent backup (we don't have great options or depth at CB imo) especially if his confidence can be restored. Could be more reliable/effective than Samba, who I don't really trust over the course of a whole season tbh.

Get rid. Go back to Sheff Wed and encourage (another?) bid as with the Reading - Bacuna deal.

Would definitely welcome this signing, am sure he would help and contribute in our attacking play. Could be the extra spark we need. Just...the Elmohamady signing barely makes sense now really...I prefer Adomah and we already have too many RBs or even RWB... We should go back to Sheff Wed and offer them Hutton.

It's highly unlikely he would even consider coming here, atm at least, the suggestion is more of a desire/wish than anything. However, he is being restricted at Newcastle and not happy with the transfer strategy/restrictions there and has openly stated his frustrations at the lack of progress or success in making signings. Regardless, I personally feel we could attract a decent manager (even a "big name") if Xia and co. had the chance to sit with such a candidate and "sell" the club or project to them. If we get promoted, I believe Xia would back the manager really well...that looks like a distant dream now though but as fans we must remain ever hopeful... Personally, I feel like Bruce has done a terrible job here and it clearly hasn't worked out. Any half decent change of manager and coaching staff should make some kind of positive difference imo. I'm sick of the depressing, dull and downright embarrassing excuse for football, the embarrassing performances and shite results we've had to endure during Bruce's tenure...

Pardew others: Laudrup (Laursen as assistant?) our situation is desperate so I wouldn't be that opposed to almost any change tbh, if Allardyce (who I've never liked) could be tempted then I actually think he could get us up, I would welcome Smith, (initial) short term deals would be preferable. I think there are plenty out there who could do a much better job, some attacking football would be nice... I don't know enough about (young) foreign managers out there but I'm sure someone could do well here with this squad and a couple of additions. Btw - why the hell is Bruce still here?

Would love Mellberg & Laursen back at the club in some capacity, Terry can piss off (in comparison) For manager, I really think we should go for Jokanovic or similar - it's been way, way too long since we saw an attacking, adventurous form of play. Bruce needs to go, he's been given too much time if anything and it's just going to get worse. We desperately need to replace the whole coaching & management team with the right people (someone ambitious, adventurous, determined and clued up, someone who actually knows what attacking football is!!). I think we should take advantage of certain situations now, act fast and go for Jokanovic. Or go all out for Benitez or even Rodgers. Before it's too late... It's about time we stopped being negative and restricted and show everyone what Aston Villa FC is all about, we should be going all out, all guns blazing and blow the majority of teams away at this level!! I am sick to the back teeth of the shit we have had to endure for far too long!

Fairly big condemnation here but... I would rather have Westwood in our midfield and have sold Bacuna instead. Maybe we wouldn't have felt such a need to sign Whelan or that type of player either... Wish we could just get Lansbury and Hourihane firing on all cylinders together though...

I'm hoping it doesn't take a change of manager (as much as I have been critical of and disappointed with Bruce, I am willing to be patient for at least 4-5 games in the hope that the team will settle and start producing strong performances for the full 90+ mins) to get us promoted this season but I would love our next managerial change (whenever that may be) or target to be Benitez or Rodgers. They don't quite seem attainable at this point (unless Benitez has a big fall out with Ashley e.g. over transfers - I think Xia would give him better backing, especially in the PL. I think Rodgers would be in high demand, if he appeared to be available , and prefer a top flight job but feel Xia could "sell" the club and demonstrate his ambitions to either). If we end up struggling fairly soon, another consideration would be Jokanovic (not quite happy with the transfer committee at Fulham but would be difficult to attract if they are competing at the top this season).
