  1. Albrighton & Nzonzi on loan? I wonder who the CF signing will be... Giroud still possible? (PIATEK!!! ) Really hope we can bring at least another 3 players in to give us a major boost! After last night’s result we can really kick on and turn the season around! UTV
  2. Same here & agreed. What a win, hopefully this will give us the lift and boost in belief & confidence that we so desperately need. Nakamba was great today, Grealish fantastic as always. Reina is still top class. Get Samatta in the side (and a few more signings if possible) and we can kick on.
  3. What a win! This could be the turning point, we fight on! Finally some positivity and new signings will only add to it, confidence & belief is everything! UTV!!!
  4. Keep battling, don’t let the heads drop... Difficult without a CF.
  5. How about in terms of contribution rather than personality? Both worked out as bad as each other I suppose... we have signed so much dross and wasted so much money over the years. Hopefully that’s all going to change and we will clear the rest out asap...
  6. Worst signing: Hogan or McCormack? The extent of the rebuilding job required in the summer cannot be overstated. All of the released players had to be discarded and none would have made much of a contribution. Our whole striking department needed replacing and improving (we only managed to get Wesley in, Samatta could be great and let’s see who else comes in), we only had El Ghazi in the wide positions. Other positions needed strengthening (Defence, MF, DM, GK) too. We had to quickly assemble a PL ready team, that’s quite a challenge. And we still have/had useless players like Taylor (crazy that he’s getting game time!!!), Hogan & Kodjia in the squad! Without the loans we would not have got promoted. I really hate FFP and we have been hamstrung by it. With our owners, we could have made some major signings but instead had to spread our limited amount of funds out across several positions just to put out a side... The only way to get into that top 6 ot anywhere close is to spend big on top quality e.g. Man City bought the likes of Toure, Silva & Aguero. Wolves managed to do some dodgy deals and integrate talent like Neves & Jota in early then added the likes of Moutinho, Jimenez & Traore (piss of with this PL experience bs, you just need top quality, no matter where it comes from). We simply did not have the capacity to do anything like that nor would be an attraction to top tier talent as we are just a newly promoted side rather than an established PL team... Honestly, I was feeling very optimistic at the start of the season (our performance against Spurs gave me some encouragement too, although I was disappointed with the final result). I do think we suffered with a run of tough games, close/controversial calls such as bad/wrong VAR calls & tough losses such as Liverpool. Confidence has been severely knocked (a huge factor imo) and we couldn’t manage with injuries to our main players (Mings & McGinn). The squad is just not that great but we can keep improving it going forwards. We just need to stay up for now and keep progressing. Hopefully we will make better signings in future windows. And no, Grealish is going nowhere and I resent “fans” that keep saying that he should go or would be better off elsewhere. He’s one of our own and loves the club, we managed to make it into the Prem and we can only get better if we stay up. We can build the side around him and compete if we get the right players in, those on the level of McGinn & Mings... (you won’t get another Grealish, ever)
  7. Fairly limited player but essential to have him in that starting lineup whenever possible because he does contribute considerably to our (attacking) play and links quite well with Jack. Worried about his apparent proneness to injury... He’s young and will continue to develop with good coaching and match experience. I just really wish Dean would give up on and even discard Taylor and (if we don’t have the capacity/capability to sign a new/better LB, would love Amavi back though!) convert or focus on Hause as an alternative for that position. Don’t rate him too highly but another youngster who can only improve. Konsa is better imo and Kortney looked decent at LB last season... I liked the Engels and Mings partnership but injuries disrupted it and I’m not a big fan of 3 at the back tbh. Would like that restored if possible. Playing Taylor is a handicap, he limits us massively. I want him gone or to be, quite simply, a last resort. I honestly find It shocking that someone who was not good enough in the championship is getting games in the PL. It’s the case, to a lesser degree, for a few other players too... Also, Guilbert should be starting ahead of Elmo every time. The lack of depth and quality in our squad has been completely exposed...
  8. We could do with a decent set piece specialist other than Conor...
  9. Yep. I’m so sick of seeing this “PL experience” BS. The only players we could have signed that fit into that category would be over the hill, overpaid and just not good enough. Lescott & Richards anyone??? The only decent players with PL experience would command astronomically high fees & wages and they wouldn’t leave for a less successful and newly promoted team anyway... You just need good, quality players. You have to question the scouting and ability to find and integrate players properly. Look at Wolves for instance, how many players with Prem experience did they sign? Ok, they might have had some dodgy dealings but they got players of the necessary quality in (as well as a “compatible” manager). Unfortunately, they have been doing very well and we look poor next to them... We just have to find the right quality and integrate those players as well as possible. If we’re looking back, I don’t think it was Riley who was responsible for dross like Lescott, Richards, Gestede and others...
  10. Just wish he wasn’t so inconsistent but... he’s Vastly Superior to Trezeguet! We need a proper striker and winger in this window at least...
  11. I fear stop gaps will send us down and is a sign of past mentality... we need to improve our first team, not just fill gaps. Spending on quality to at least stay up is the better approach imo, I know FFP is an issue but relegation would be a massive blow.... got to keep the likes of Grealish, McGinn & Mings and build a strong side around them... Our big money striker is out for the rest of the season, we need a proper (if possible, better) replacement. That is the number 1 priority this window - we need a goalscorer more than anything. I know we’re struggling at the bottom of the league but we still have to show some ambition and not forget the calibre of owners that we have...
